A Thankful Bee

Well I, Mistress Bee got to feeling better enough to where I felt I would be able to join the family for Thanksgiving at our children's home. Although I threw my knee out while there and my back muscles were and still are a bit 'achey' this morning. Oh the joys of growing older. I am grateful that with tylenol and a bit of walking carefully the knee pain eventually subsides in a day or so.  Yesterday morning, Master Drone took the bees out for a run at one of the local Jr. High Schools. (Their own little personal family 'Turkey Trot').  The little bees helped me make some cinnamon rolls at home, which I had been wanting to make all along. The dough turned out beautifully with the children doing all the kneading. Master Drone was giving me a funny look as I was 'instructing' Honey Bee on her kneading skills. 'Turn, Fold, PUSH! Turn, Fold, PUSH!". I know he had some other picture forming in his head as I was talking. Then he went to help the our son finish the trim around the front window of their home to have it look nice for the afternoon gathering. It was a late morning breakfast but I think they thought it was worth it when they saw the results of their labor.  Maybe this will motivate me into doing more of the bread making that I have been wanting to do for so long. We were a bit stressed about attending dinner as there has always been some tension between the two families but it went well and everyone enjoyed themselves it seemed. We were able to eat outside under a canopy and the weather was just perfect for the event (not to hot or sunny). The only incident was when Honeybee got sick from eating too much. But it didn't make too big of a mess. (Oh when the eyes are bigger than the stomach). Afterwards we took a plate of food and a piece of pie over to my basically homebound mother and then took the children to a nearby park for a bit of fun before going home for the evening. When we arrived the married bees were there waiting for us so they could return a table they borrowed and bring us more leftovers for our refrigerator. All in all it was a good day. And although I am not as eloquent at putting the things I am grateful for into words. I do have a grateful heart and I think this is acceptable enough to the Lord.

I am so glad you had a good Thanksgiving...this year's was different for me....but good. I am especially thankful this morning for a quiet moment to enjoy....the boys are out hunting and the little children are sleeping in a bit.
I think your worlds are eloquent and warm, so please keep writing them!
hugs
Sweetie
