Do you put God in a Box?

As I sit here and type this I can hear it raining. I have almost forgotten what that sounds like. The girls are doing their studies and I have found a moment to write:)

I am so glad that we are getting a good soaker. We might get to burn some of our  wood  this weekend:) We have so many tree branches that need to be burnt. There is always something to do:) We don't have much land but there is always something to do in our yard.

Last Wednesday during our small group one of our friends said she wanted to sell her house but she didn't  have a sign in her yard. She said "if God wanted her to sell her  house he would send a buyer."  Well I  knew she would have an easier time selling  her house it if she had a "for sale" sign in her yard. I doubted that she would find a buyer? How would they know it was for sale anyways?

This week one of my family members was outside working in their yard and some one pulled up in their driveway and asked if they could buy some land on their property. Now there was no sign in their yard either.  They have been praying for monthes to get some of their land sold. I was shocked!

So I was wondering do I put God in a box? God has been working on my life so much and  He is showing me that He is so much bigger than I ever imagined. Do not ever doubt that God can't help in a certain problem. I am now seeing that God can do anything!

I have been trying so hard  trusting God in our finances I have now decided if God wants our debt paid off he will help us do it. This is easier said but hard to do. We have been struggling. Yes! We get our bills paid but have nothing left over each month. I should be grateful for just that. We have plenty of food and a warm home. I just want to be out of this huge pile of debt. I know God is Big enough to help us with this! I have still been reading many books and working hard each month getting our debt paid down. We have been trying not to use the credit card each month. I am now leaving my worries at the Saviors feet and I know He will help us with this:)

Blessings to all,

Ma

We seem to forget that God is in charge .

I believe from time to time we all feel like you .We don't completely turn everything over to God .Things go great for a while .We give in buy more stuff we don't really need. And it puts us in a bind later . We have to set limits on our spendings and become more disciplined about it. Then we can save money and live a more meaningful life . Geared toward what we really want out of life. I take it one step, one bill at a time and try to pay more on that one til it is forever gone .Then go to the next one and so on. And really ask myself before I buy anything ,is this going to do something for me or my family ? Do we really need to buy a new car? No,I don't want the monthly bill !! I try to get what we really need . And Save the rest !!!! Then it don't seem so hard ,I know I have the extra money in case something comes up . Hang in there, Shaune

Oh, God and boxes... hmmm, been there, done that. It's funny because sometimes I can let go and let God do everything, but other times, I've just got to keep a little bit for me to worry on, kwim?

Most recently God showed Himself to us with this house. We live in an area where the average home price (starter home) is $125,000-150,000. This is for starter homes, nothing fancy, which is just shocking to me and hubby, being small town folks transplanted to the big city. But we refused to pay that much for a house - we were struggling with our rent payment of $757 a month, and knew we couldn't afford $1200+ a month... so we prayed and prayed and prayed, and year after year after year that door remained closed.

We found a new realtor this past January, a young whippersnapper (LOL - he's a year or two older than me!) who said there was no way we could find a 3/2 house with or without a garage on a larger-than-average lot for under $80K. So be it, we told him, but that was our price, and we wouldn't budge - even though he kept showing us homes that were even just $10-15K more... but we held out. When our house now came on the market, a foreclosure, I asked to see it, and just knew it was meant for us. David went by later with me, and felt it too. So our realtor asked how much we wanted to bid, and we told him we wanted our payment to be under $800 a month - so between him and our mortgage guy, they came up with a bid of $73,235.

I admit that they were skeptical, and I'm sure that Rob (the realtor) thought he was going to have to deal with us for year, LOL! No one was more surprised than him when he called the day bidding closed and told me that we had won the bidding (just $235 higher than the asking price) over 8 other people!

And when all was said and done, our house payment actually came out $23 less a month than our rent, and that includes everything - taxes, insurance, etc. etc.

Everyone thought we were insane, and that we'd never get a house - but we are so ecstatic to share our testimony and share with them about our faith in God, and how He is always faithful.

He will meet your needs, Renee, and give you the desire of your heart, in His time. It won't be easy - trust me, after 10 years of apartment living, I thought we'd NEVER have a house (just like after 2+ years of TTC I thought we'd never have a child), but it always happens when His time is right.

Blessings!

Thanks for this post... it was a great reminder!! Just in case you didn't read my answer to your question on my blog I thought I would post it here! Acres are measured in 100 points, and my mom said that when people have as close to an acre as you do... then they just say that you do have an acre!! I agree that what we have is perfect for us!! Almost an acre is plenty for us right now!! Have a great day!

Blessings,
Alex
