How much do you care about what others think of you?????

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those long weeks. My step-grandmother is really doing poorly. She is now not eating anything and is not taking any of her medicine. My husbands dad is not doing well at all either he is now under hospice care which is good but also we know now it won't be long before he will die. Which makes us sad. Please keep us in your Prayers:)
Yesterday during our worship service our pastor asked about how do you "want others to think of you after you die". I have had a hard time thinking about this because I thought we shouldn't worry about what other thought of us? I am talking about what others at church think of you or how about the lady at the grocery that you don't know if she is a believer or not? I know we should act like a Christian everywhere we go and I also know that not everyone likes Christians. So do we act differently when we are around others that are not? I know it sounds confusing. But I have been dealing with this for a while and I have decided to just be me and if you don't like me oh well. I just want God to bring healthy relationships into my life. Yes I would be like to be well thought of but I also want to live for Christ and that is not as popular. Sometimes you just have to be the weird one in the room:) The more I get to know Jesus the more I enjoy being different! I have been willing to give up my friends for Christ and that is a hard thing to do but He is worth it!
I am not sure how much we will be writing in the next few days. I am praying to see if I (Ma) need a computer fast. So much is going on I think I should spend my free time in prayer.
Many Blessings to all,
Ma

You said it girl, if being weird means being a Christian, I'm weird then, LOL. I tried for years to please people and get them to like me, but you know what, there is only ONE that I care what HE thinks. HE is the ultimate goal and HE is the one that I try to please now. As for what I want people to remember about me after I'm gone, she made me laugh and she made a mean jambalya, LOL LOL.

Dear Ma,
The Lord loves you just the way you are..... whatever stage you are at in your life......... to be "real" is so much more approachable then to be something we are not...... the Lord loves *real* people -- He spoke out against hypocricy (sp?) of all kinds........
I think we as Christians need to be aware that we don't give the impression that we are perfect....... or put on a "face" to be seen of the world ~ we should truly be transparent......
I personally think it's refreshing to meet someone who is very real and doesn't pretend to be something they are not!
Remember God loves you!

ps. computer fasts are great! I have done that and it does wonders! I am trying to be offline all weekend..... and it feels great!

I am very weird as far as most people go; in fact, as far as most Christians go. One read of my blog tells you that!! I have learned that I have to do and be what God tells me to do and be, instead of trying to please all the people around me, especially the people in the church.
And, I know that all of us need to watch how much time we spend on our computers. It is far too easy to visit house to house with other ladies. Just a touch of the button, and, voila, I'm across the continent. Another touch and I'm on the other side of the world. I have had to limit my blogging to 2 days a week, maybe 3 if I have spare time. Then I take a bit of time on one of my off days to read a few blogs and comment. When I am on the computer too much, the things I need to do don't get done....and that defeats the whole purpose I had for starting blogging anyway (to encourage women to embrace their homes and families and to be content in their homes)
Blessings,
Patti

This is my first time by your blog, but I just wanted to tell you my thoughts are with you. I pray everything will be well with your family. As for the computer fast, I can understand that very well.
Blessings and prayers for you and yours!

Hi! I was reading your last post, (which I think is funny) and it reminded me of somthing I saw in a magazine. It was how you can get the birds to come and eat right out of your hand. You make a dummy of your self with your clothes on, and set it out in the yard with seed on its hand. Then after a while, you take the dummy down, and put on the same clothes, and you stand out there, and they will eat out of your hand, but you have to be really still!

P.S. I was wondering were you got your graphics?
