Bread making Day..... Lots of pictures....

On Friday we spent most of our day making bread. My sister-in-law gave us a D.V.D on bread making Homestead Blessings  "The Art of Bread Making". We enjoyed watching the West Family so much that we decided to make our own bread. It was so much fun that I thought I would share a little bit of what we did....I found a easy recipe off the internet that used only a few ingredients. We were excited to make bread using yeast...we found out that mixing yeast with the warm water smelled really funny:)

Here is our dough mixed and ready to be kneaded.

Here the bread is ready to rise for the first time

We placed the bowl in a warm oven....Here it is risen.

We poured it out ....ready to be punched down.

Here we are punching it down that was a lot of fun!

We put it back into a warm oven to rise the second time...

The Bread is now ready to bake.....

We took it out of the oven....the house smelled so good!!!

Not bad for our first try?

We Loved making bread and we hope to make a lot more in the future. Our next goal is sour dough bread. On the D.V.D The West Family makes cinnamon rolls that we will have to try!!

We had a very nice weekend although on Sunday my husband came down with a cold. ..he rested most of the day. I knitted and cleaned up from the weekend. It is suppose to be a pretty week ahead. I wish we could get outside there are many things I still would like to get done. I am now thinking we probably won't be able to get our last two garden beds made..I am sure the ground is going to get to hard. We will just have to wait until spring:)

I am also getting excited about the holidays....I am going to try to make many of our gifts which is fun!!  My daughters enjoy baking which is nice for me I don't really have to help much in that area....I can't believe how quick my daughters have grown up:)  My  daughters are also going to make a baby gift for my youngest brother he is expecting a little boy in February.

Mmmm...I can almost smell the fresh bread from here. LOL The pictures are great, and I am sure you all had a blast making the homemade bread.

Would you care to share your recipe for the bread with us??? I would love to try my hand at making homemade bread!!

I love making homemade bread. My grammie and mom have always made their own bread but everytime I tried it would never come out right!!! I finally got the hang of it 3 or 4 years ago! Your bread looks great!

I got to see all three videos and they are marvelous. If I didn't have so many little ones I'd try my hand at soap making.
