The Start of a Homesteader Mom

Friday... and a sassy girl

How do I get my 3 year old to stop sassing adults? She is just down right RUDE. Mean. And ugly!  Her attitude is high and mighty and hurtful. Sigh... She thinks saying a snotty "I'm SORRY!" makes it all better. She mostly is rude to my mother and my husband. NEVER EVER to Grandpa and rarely to me. But sometimes she is to me too. Like right now she is in the corner for 2 mins because of it.

Sometimes I dont think Spankins are the answer because she doesnt really do anything but give a snotty look or something else. Nothing horrible. Just... ugly.

I am just really venting. Because I know that I am working on it and in time it will pass. I did tell her that if the attitude does not stop there is no more playing or watching Land before time. Because she acts JUST LIKE Cera on there sometimes. Even though she doesnt like Cera because she is mean! lol

Anyways. Things are still going wonderful!

I am off to put some bread in the oven. I dont think it will turn out. It just did not FEEL like it will. But I am letting it rise extra long so we shall see...

You might want to tell her that she's acting like Cera...maybe, since she doesn't like her, she might see that.

BUT...here's what I did...(it's sort of a family joke now. My girls laughingly say that I scarred them for life!) I only had to do this a couple of times...

When my girls were little and were being bad/mean/rude/disrespectful or something like that, I started saying to the offender, "Who are YOU? What did you do with my [insert name here]? I want my [...] back!" I would then go all over the house calling my daughter's name and "looking" for her. The offending daughter would be walking behind me saying, "No, Mommy! I'm [...]! Really, it's me!" And I'd say, "No, you can't be MY [...] because she's a good girl and would NEVER talk to me like that." I'd then continue this for another couple of minutes until the lesson really sank in. We would then have a conversation about what behavior is expected and that she is usually such a good girl and it just isn't like her the act that way...what kind of friend is a girl who acts like that?...all those wonderful attitude lessons.

Like I said...I only had to do this 1 or 2 times each! It was a lesson well learned.

I'm sorry she's acting that way for you! I do like wannabeone's idea tho!
