The Start of a Homesteader Mom | ||
![]() My oh my... could anything else happen... shouldn't say that.So it is a rainy weekend for our move. Let me take you back to a week or so ago. Ok a month or two ago when we told my MIL to list our BILs trailer in the Horse Trader. Did she do it? No. I can't completely blame her though. I was in the same mind with her that BIL and SIL had it full of stuff and noone would want to buy it. So she waited. And when she did list it was a Week and a half BEFORE we were supposed to move. My dh freaked. And of course ALMOST single handedly scrapped my BILs trailer. Oh word. He is also working a full time job.It was a mess. The whole time scrapping it all he got was yelled at and I got yelled at over it. They freaked. I am talking you would have thought we were Satan himself. If I did not know everyone was just under too much stress I would have said no way will I EVER move here. Actually about 3 nights that week Justin did call me saying stop the packing we are not moving here. Packing. Did I mention I packed my whole house myself? I am pretty proud of me. Move day... the kids and I came into moms to stay. That is going great and currently where I sit right now. The trailer people come out and are just to get things ready for Saturdays move (this was friday). But with the RAIN RAIN and more RAIN they say they want to get it in NOW. So the last of our things are hurridly done (thus why my over the toilet shelf came crashing down onto my toilet paper bar when it broke off, breaking that from the wall too...) and we are moving the trailer. As I rush to my inlaws to await them coming I see them! and what do I see they pull of the road and ... and... nothing. They are not moving. Because they are STUCK IN THE MUD!!!! To top that off one wheel fell off during that. At least they made it off the road. Farmer comes out who's property we were using to cut acrossed and says why did you take it that way? (This guy is a GOD SEND! GOD SEND I tell you. Big GOLD Tooth with a John Deer Emblem on it in the front. Thank God the man does love John Deer so much...) We told him his wife told us to go this way and the last trailer was brought in that way. He says, what does she know! She was not here then. We were to go a long way up around his barn and down through his field. So he got his BIG John Deer out and towed them. Truck Trailer and all... Going well... Boom. It comes to another hault. The trailer hitch broke! No kidding. Oh my word. Trailer moving guys were getting really nastey at this point. Um... like this is OUR FAULT? God Send Farmer (neighbor) to the rescue again! He calls his other farmer friend (Gotta LOVE ALL YOU FARMER PEOPLE OUT HERE!!!) who has trailer hitches in his yard. He says you can have them but you have to come over and measure which will fit. So off we go and it gets welded on. And all is well right? NO! BILs trailer was 14x72. So was ours. So everything will be perfect and line up. So we thought. Dumb mistake. His frame was only 6.5 ft. Ours is more like 8 wide. The piers are off!!! The trailer people leave with our trailer sitting there. Tell us to pour piers and call him back and he will come back later in the week. Took $1200 and left. So we still owe him when he comes back for the rest of the job. $300 more. Justin, his dad and one brother work till 3 am pouring cement (30 bags of it) and pouring piers. Justin says no way is he calling them back they will level it themselves. So bought bottle jacks too. $$ Then Justin wakes up puking. But he kept working. Time to work the electric. GO BACK to last week when I called to have them set up service. They said no way until we get it inspected. I said where can we live!?! They said find a place! AHHHH so I am still at moms. No electric. $200+ later Justin gets all the stuff for him and his brother to do the electric. As we speak he is doing that. PLEASE pray everything is passed and quickly and they turn our electric on soon. Did I mention Tristan fell head first down the steps at moms?? All is going amazingly wonderful here. Well a few things here and there. Oh I got to keep my dog! And Alyssa got barn cats. One died, Never would eat. They were nursing off our dog! So My FIL is going to keep the one (Day - Night died) down in his basement for her. So she has been thrilled. I am allergic. But we got to keep our dog! I am thrilled. She is an outside pet but the most amazing dog you ever would meet. And now I am going to close before noone will read this being so long. Please keep us in your prayers and soon we will be done and back to normal. Hopefully! I miss Justin. He is staying over there working since Friday. Sleeping in our trailer with no electric but an extention cord from his moms to run our fridge and freezer and one lamp. He is a good man.
