Killer Attack Farm Woman

I've sorely neglected my flowerbeds this year in favour of the
vegetable garden. The veggie plot needed it, but... The results have
been less than satisfactory to my lilies and other
pretty-yet-less-than-edible green things.
Well, I got fed up the other day. My good spade has gone AWOL
somewhere, and it's either those four ragamuffins who swear up and down
they haven't seen the thing since last February, or it's the weeds.
I kid you not. I found my Garden Claw and a hoe under the mess I
attacked on Sunday. The battle involved bypass pruners, lots of
hand-weeding, a very runny nose, a lawnmower and a weed-whacker. The
result is a relatively civilized corner of our property.
Still no spade.
However, we did have a lovely supper outdoors on the freshly cut lawn,
overlooking the newly-rediscovered flowerbed. I guess it's all worth it
in the end. However, I shall not rest until my mission is complete.

I am afraid I will have to resign my membership in Weeders Anonymous: I am far too pregnant to be bending over in this heat to weed under the melons and pumpkins. it isn\'t worth it! now, among the corn and tomatos, yes, and I will continue to fight that battle, and the newly planted strawberries and raspberries. but searching under that mess of vines (that are all intergrown, and it looks like there is a watermelon, a cantelope AND a pumpkin growing on the same vine!) that is too much! anyway, good luck on that missing tool!

Unfortunately we have a problem keeping up with our tools around here. Far too many are found only when you're mowing and hear that awful clunk of metal!
