Would Jesus…

Spend time reading email?

Spend hours watching television and movie rentals?

Have lots of knick-knacks in his house?

Spend time reading books?

Care about if His house was beautiful esthetically?

Own as many “things” as we do?

Put His children in daycare?

Be on a Friday night bowling league?

Eat at McDonald’s?

Spend a lot of time shopping at the mall?

Watch the nightly news?

Complain about His job?

Skip church so he could go to a family get-together?

Let his children do half the things we let our children do?

Dress, or let our children dress, the way we do?

Buy his children, or allow them to have, the sheer number of toys they have?

Teach his children, or let them be taught, about accepting the gay lifestyle or how to put a condom on?

This is just an example of the kinds of things I’ve been thinking about lately. I must admit I’ve been re-reading “In His Steps” by Charles M. Sheldon; but I’ve been pondering these things for a long time. I’m really not trying to be judgmental. I’m trying to develop a deeper understanding of what God would have us spend time doing in our everyday lives.
