A couple of weekends ago, dh and I took a couple of days off and enjoyed a mini vacation in Cedar Key.  Our kids gave us an anniversary gift of a room at a waterfront B&B.  After driving through nasty, stormy weather that afternoon, we arrived as the skies started to clear just in time to see this lovely sunset.

Sharing with you this morning, my sister's (...and, of course, brother-in-law's) triplets who just turned four this month...aren't they adorable? 

This morning, we were up early and headed over to the local high school for 'See You at the Pole.'  What an awesome experience - standing there in that big circle around the flag pole with about 100 or so young people and faculty who had gotten up and to school earlier than usual this morning to pray from their community, school and country.  

See You at the Pole is all about prayer. It's about coming together and laying aside all the labels and groups for one day, to simply connect with God in prayer and connect with fellow Christians in unity around the flag pole—whether jocks, preps, geeks, homeschoolers, Methodists, Baptists, Catholics, sophomores, or seniors.

The flag that was raised this morning was one that was actually flown over Iraq in a Blackhawk and brought back to the high school by a local Air National Guard Lt. who has just returned home.  How very special to hear his words of gratitude for all of the prayers we here at home lifted up for him.

Bringing believers together at the beginning, so that we can stand together throughout the year...I can't think of a better way to begin a new school season!

Some lovely, little ladies my daughter met while on her missions trip to Costa Rica this spring... 

This pic was snapped just milli-seconds before the soccer ball (...there in the right-hand side of the frame...) hit and created an explosion of multicolored skirts and screaming!  

For all those who have a younger brother...I know that you, especially, will appreciate this lovely portrait of my daughter and her cousin....

"Mom, you have to take my picture with this guy!  No one will believe that I found someone taller than Tucker!!"
