We set aside our Sunday each week as a day of rest and worship. This is the Lord’s Day, a gift from God to us. Yet, truthfully…isn’t every day a gift from God…a Lord’s Day? I believe it is, and that we should, as Psalm 118 says, “…rejoice and be glad…” in every day we’re given.
Sunday, we enjoyed an anointed, wonderful time of worship with our church family, and a sweet, shy, little guy in my Sunday school class opened up to me for the first time. Sunday was a blessed Lord’s Day.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Monday was the Lord's Day. It was beautiful, sunny and warm. We had clear skies and the children enjoyed frolicking in the lake.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Had the worship been off key or my little student unruly, would it have been any less the Lord’s Day?
Had there been thunderstorms and rain, should we not rejoice and be glad?
Tuesday, late, on the way from Lexington to Savannah on a routine run, our nephew’s truck jack-knifed and careened out of control. I’m sure that Jesus was smiling as he welcomed Danny home that night. Danny will be missed, by his wife, his three young children, his sisters (including his twin), parents, family and all who knew him. He was a wonderful, warm, Godly man and we loved him dearly. How hard this is to accept, and we don’t know why… however, we do know …
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
What started out as a carefree, summertime week had turned into a difficult one. It’s easy to rejoice in God’s love on the sunny days. It’s important to rejoice in God’s love on the cloudy ones. They are all the Lord’s days.
This is the day the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
You are my God, and I will give you thanks;
You are my God, and I will exalt you.
Rejoice in whatever this Lord’s Day brings.
...and don’t forget to give your loved ones an extra long hug! |
