There's a little place where I love to go and play,

where I sometimes wish I could spend the whole day.

There, my precious children often visit

and freely share their hearts a bit.

There are no phones, dirty dishes or chores

just books, music and art supplies galore!

It's a hideout, a refuge, a fun place to be,

this sweet little hut the family made for me!

This is the Hut!  A gift from my family. 

This past school year, my hubbie was Shop teacher.  Being the very clever, not to mention thoughtful, man that he is, he decided his students, Tucker, Kellen and Sami, would build a studio for mom, who was quickly outgrowing her corner of the 'Zone' (...which is our family, school, music, game, craft - multi-purpose  room in the house - that used to be a car/boat garage). 

Never has he had a more inspired idea. 

First, an empty, unfinished, pre-made shed was brought in on a flat bed truck.  Then the build-out began!!  It took several months, but Tucker, with the help of his dad and siblings, installed circuits, ran electricity, added drywall, molding, flooring, air conditioning, built steps...and all of the extras.  It was a huge undertaking, and they did a beautiful job!   I have my desk, two tables, 4 small bookcases, an amoire, a full sized couch, stuffed chair and an end table/copier stand in there... and there's still room!   

Needless to say...I absolutely love it!
