I slept in this morning until 8am. It was HEAVENLY! We got home about 8:30 last night from Joey's bday celebrating and I did what needed to be done and was in bed asleep by 9:30!!!!! ELEVEN HOURS OF SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that meant that I missed my 8am workout!LOL So I stayed in bed until 8:45 (Joey woke up after 8 and Mat aboaut 8:30) and got them started on school, emptied the dishwasher, and started laundry. Then I did the one hour workout at 9. It was one that I preferred, but I layed low on the weights since I had pears staring at me........ Then I hung up the darks and tossed in the whites and got my tea brewing for my kombucha and the simply syrup made and started in the pears. I had finally stalled as long as I could. I spent 3 hours peeling and slicing. At 3, I finally got most of the pear mess cleaned up and brought in the laundry and got the mail. I also shucked 7 ears of corn for supper tonight and turned the leftover simply syrup into hummingbird food since that was empty. I then opened the mail. There was a letter (that I almost pitched as junkmail!) from our credit card company's fraud dept! Turns out the Wii purchase and resort rental trigged it!LOL I was glad that that was all that there was too it at least! And I remembered to call the BMV and find out what I need to take in to get the boy's state IDs. And they are only $13/each, which is reasonable. Mat's excited about getting one!LOL

I also asked Mat to run out the last of hte pear trash and rinse the bucket, take out the corn husks and vacuum since it was going on 4 and I had only eaten the 3 pizza snacks that Mat fed me while I was peeling. And out of 12 qts, I know at least 9 have sealed. I'm not confident that 2 will, but we can eat those. I'm doing apples next week. I'll have put up about 35 qts of fruit this summer if all goes well (probably closer to 40).

I have a feeling that I"ll sleep well again tonight........

Pear canning!

Well I managed to can 12 quarts of pears. It took me 3 hours to peel/slice them! I have 3 quarts that have not sealed. I'm pretty sure that 2 won't seal, but that's OK. We can eat those.

I did NOT have a thankful heart while doing it tho. I told myself what a horrid steward I was being if I am GIVEN pears and don't feel like canning them! It's not honorable to ANYONE when I can easily save money like that and don't want to out of sheer LAZINESS! I hate the peeling. Really hate it.........mom offered me apples and I guilted myself into taking those. So last week was peaches, this week was pears and next week is apples........... The upside is that I'll have put up a minimum of 35 qts of fruit so that will be a very welcomed treat this winter when I gasp at grocery prices skyrocketing, yk? It will allow us to continue to support food pantries since I won't have to shell out as much at the grocery.

See Ya Later...

HAPPIER BIRTHDAY JOEY (for me anyway!LOL)

I'm dead on my feet, but no headache! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!! ANd the boys were GREAT today! Well for me!LOL They got school and chores done by 10:30!!!!!!!! Why can't life ALWAYS be like this?LOL Joey had a snit while playing Sorry, but I think he's tired (and rightly so after last night).

Had a great time w/my family. My dad picked some corn on the way over so we had tuna salad, corn on the cobb, cukes and onions, homemade potato chips and cupcakes for lunch! Supper is Bob Evans and then bowling (or vice versa cuz I think leagues start at 7 and I'd rather avoid that if I could).

I also have to go get the boys state ID cards. The guy running the FL show said it would be alot easier on us. And I guess I need to do it pronto cuz he needs the names on the IDs in order to order hte airline tix. At least it was something EASY (or it should be in theory!LOL).

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY JOEY!!!!!!!!

We saw Oklahoma last night and it was THREE HOURS LONG!!!!!!! So it was 11 when we got home. It was WONDERFUL tho! Enough humor to keep Joey entertained and Mat really liked it too! I'm glad cuz CATS left a bad taste in his mouth AFA musicals go!LOL They both liked the 'peddler'.

Unfortunately, I woke up at 6 w/a SCREAMING headache! I said PLEASE GOD NO! NOT ON JOEY"S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! So I got up and ate a piece of bread took THREE advils (I'm suprized that I"m not flying!) and drank a short coke. I finally got to wear I could be in one position and my eyes not want to pop out and after 45 min was able to lay back down. Naturally Joey came bounding in then. I even skipped my workout! I mopped and it's almost dry so I can vacuum and then shower. My mom, sister and Keylee (maybe my dad) are coming over at least by lunchtime and then this evening (DH has meetings all day) since it's 'buck and a quarter' day at the bowling alley we are all oging to bowl (it'll cost Dh and I $7.50 to bowl 2 games and the boys are free) and then we'll cash in the boys' free Bob Evans meals. That's why it was so imperative that I get rid of hte migraine!

And now, I'm off.........;)

Beautiful day!

I've only worked out, dusted and cleaned the bathrooms. Oops, haven't done the shower yet--it's still got baking soda sprinkled in it!ROTFL! DH is working late so we're going to go bowling and then to the free dress rehearsal of Oklahoma. I can't seem to get Joey to understand that we are going to a SHOW and NOT THE STATE!ROTFL! But mom, it takes longer than one day to get to OK. YES I KNOW! WE ARE NOT GOING TO OK! WE ARE GOING TO SEE A SHOW LIKE TAMING OF THE SHREW AND LITTLE WOMEN, ETC! Hopefully he gets it AFTER it's over!ROTFL! But I figured for free, why not? Dh brought home 2 huge pork chops from some work meeting yesterday and that'll be their supper.

I also raided my garden and got 2 cukes (that I gave to my neighbor cuz I don't need them at the moment) and another zucchini (shocking, I know)! We should have plenty to send for hte Farmer's Market this week at least!

Thesis is "In the Mail"!

Well...for better of worse, my thesis ~ "The Biblical Basis for Homeschooling Christian Children" ~ has been turned in and I am waiting - w/frayed nerves - to find out what the grade - and reaction! - will be.

So, I have completed my credits for my Associate's Degree in Biblical Studies and am actually 18 credits into my Bachelor's! I attend a small seminary that does intensive degrees (and believe me...they ARE intensive!!). My pastor is the Dean...but that gives me no grace! lol

I'll be graduating on Sept. 13th. It's an odd date for graduation, I know, but a gentleman from Kenya was taking courses on-line and we raised the $$ for him to come and graduate w/us. I think the timing had something to do w/his Visa. But I'm excited!

I'm doing this, mostly, b/c I have no idea what I will be doing after we graduate our youngest dd this spring...our last homeschool graduate! WOW!! After 16 years, it just seems so unreal to think about. The time has FLOWN!

I'm hoping to still be writing and speaking. Maybe her graduating will open a little more writing time. We'll see.

But if you think of me, please keep my never level in your prayers while I wait for it to be reviewed. Thanks.

Relaxing day..........

A LAZY DAY!!!!!!!!! OMW! I can't believe it! I worked out and ironed and the boys have started school. I'm going to shower and call it a day!ROTFL!

Acutally I need to call the bowling alley to see how late they have free bowling and IHOP to make sure they offer the free children's meals on Thurs (like the other one that we went to). Joey's bday is Thurs and DH has meetings all day so I thought that might work out nicely. SUch a hoopla was made over Mat (his baptism) on his bday that I thought this might be nice for Joey.

Well, I"m glad that I called cuz the local IHOP does NOT have free children's meals EVER. I just got their free bday meal coupons from Bob Evans yesterday so we'll do that instead. The bowling alley is good to go tho!LOL

The boys are outside. Mat said that he had alot of trouble focusing and by his test scores I believe it!ROTFL! So I'll let them burn off some steam and then he can review them.

I had fried zucchini and tomatoes and cottage cheese for lunch today--SOOOOOOOOOO YUMMY! I love garden food!

Tonight's supper is brats and more cukes and onions! Tomorrow night is cheeseburgers and cukes nad onions!ROTFL! I made quite a few in case anyone was wondering!ROTFL!

Joey and his friend watching:

Mat:

gardening, laundry and more!

Man my head is POUNDING! Maybe cuz it's 2:30 and I realized that I have NOT EATEN YET TODAY!

We started school July 1st. Today is NOT going well, but I wasn't expecting it to. We have been nothing b ut GONE since Thursday (hence why we opted not to go to the Indians game tonight) and Mat was up half hte night w/a coughing fit. he slept until 9:15ish and Joey until 8:30 (Joey's usually up by 7). I slept until 8:30 myself. I was oging to skip working out, b ut it was yoga w/weights for an hour and that sounded nice. I got laundry started and hung up the 1st load after working out. Mat made eggs and Joey took the Pam and sprayed it all over hte kitchen floor. That went over well. I can't find my kitchen table cuz we've just been dumping everything on it as we come in and the living room looks like ToysRUs threw up in it. So those are my plans for today. And I'm going to vacuum out the van (and maybe stupider).

I FINALLY checked my garden after a week. STILL NO TOMATOES!!!!!!!!!!!!! But one cuke that's way past it's prime. I'm going to make cukes and onions for supper w/that. The asparagus beetles were going for a second round on the asparagus so they got nailed. I've got probably 8 zucchini, half of which are bigger than baseball bats. And something desperately needs done w/my beets. I also brought home 2 (smallish) buckets of pears from my mom. CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!LOL  Really it's not that much work. I just need to put up more beets and the pears. The rest I might freeze or giveaway. But I"m going to see how much will sell at the last Farmer's Market this week 1st.

To update that, both boys are done w/school and Mat's showing JOey ripstick moves. I have all the laundry done and off the line, everything vacuumed, phone calls made, cucumbers and onions slice and marinating in the frig and all the baseball bat zucchinis picked from the garden. So I'm now going to start my computer work and attempt to lay down.

I'll be posting Mat's baptism pics tomorrow--I don't have the energy or brain strength to do it now.
