Camping Trip

10:41, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 .. 1 comments .. Link

We survived, I mean....enjoyed another camping trip.  The weather cooperated as far as no rain...but it was VERY hot.  I think we saw a temperature reading of 95 degrees on Friday!   I told John that if we go camping on MOTHER'S DAY weekend next year just to remember "cruiseamerica.com".  (That is a place to rent RV's--we saw a bunch of them at the campground where we stayed.)

We did enjoy the pool, the bicycles, and the playground.  The little girls also enjoyed taking a pony ride.  We spent all day at the campground on Friday, and then went to Kennedy Space Center Saturday and Sunday.  Jeremey played guitar music for us around the campfire.

Unfortunately, Jason began feeling sick on Sunday and by Monday most of the rest of us were feeling bad too.  I thought maybe he had gotten dehydrated, and that was probably part of it, but he is just now starting to feel better today.  We are all feeling better, but not 100% yet.  Camping was hard on us this year!

Well...other than the getting sick part, I'm envious of your Mother's Day camping trip. I grew up camping and absolutely LOVE it...but my sweet hubby doesn't share my zeal. We've camped some ~ mostly while my dad was still alive and we could go 'camping' in my parent's 36' RV w/running water, microwave, flush toilet and A/C!! :-)

I'm also envious of that 95 degree weather!! Woohoo!!! We're having such an unseasonably cold spring. It's only 56 degrees right now and it's MAY!!! It should be in the 70's. Although it's been a BEAUTIFUL spring ~ as the blossoms seem to have been utterly abundant this spring ~ it's just taking SO LONG to get warm!! Send some of that heat our way and I'll send you some rain...THAT, we have a lot of.

Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><
