Our Country Life in the Big City

Hey ladies!  I have missed all of you so very much.  I can't believe I have been gone so long.  In these past couple of months, my mother in law passed away.  She greatly suffered with her cancer.  I also had to have gallbladder surgery.  I had been putting off even going to the doctor for months because of my mother in law's illness.  My inside and outside chores are all so far behind.  I hope to get caught up soon. 

I have seeds started in my greenhouse but we are back down in the 30's again at night.  I have purple hull peas, green beans, tomatoes, tommy toe tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, crook neck squash, jalapenos, cantaloupe, watermelon, and garlic growing.  I feel like I am forgetting something.  I hope to get my garden prepared this weekend.  I want to get several loads of compost from the county.  We can get it for free if we load it. 

My wonderful hubby is going to build me an outdoor wash stand for my birthday.  I can't wait!  I also hope to get a glass washboard instead of my metal one.  I had to make another batch of detergent yesterday, it always makes my house smell so very good.

Well, I guess I had better get off to bed.  We have a new WalMart opening tomorrow about 3 miles from my house and they are having lots of give aways in the morning and the kids and I hope to go.  I also need to get up early and get some chores done.  I will do my best to write again tomorrow night.
