A Modern Prescription for Illness

How to Get Sick: Expose Yourself Often to Electromagnetic Energy

Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are everywhere. Television sets, microwave ovens, cell phones, and local media transmission towers all transmit electromagnetic energy. This increasing reliance on technology has had a dangerous consequence: Two decades of research shows possible links between EMFs and miscarriages, birth defects, and cancers.

X-rays, computerized axial tomography (CAT) scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) expose us to especially high levels of EMFs. One MRI, for example, delivers radiation equal to 100 conventional X-rays. These diagnostic tools are useful, but they can be potentially deadly if used indiscriminately. Cellular phones may also pose dangers. Holding them so close to your head, and the delicate brain tissue underneath, leads to powerful EMF exposure.

The good news is that most EMF exposure can be avoided or limited. Stand clear of devices like microwave ovens, hair dryers, television sets, and computers while they're in use.

A Fix for EMFs?
Public concern over EMFs has led some companies to market "shields" that they claim will protect cell phone users from electromagnetic emissions. Unfortunately, these products don't seem to deliver on those promises. The Federal Trade Commission issued a warning to consumers and called the devices ineffective. In this case, the best policy is the simplest one. Try to avoid cell phones altogether, or use them as seldom as possible.

I use a headset  now when using my cell phone. I think that is the best solution if you must use one and personally we depend on our cells phones living out in the country. Many times our phone will go down, or our power goes out.  It has been nice to rely on the cell phone as well when I'm out doing chores and have a mishap, I can call for help. So I really think they are a blessing......but we need to remember there comes a price for the conveniences of our modern world........and it is good to take precautions!
