Where does the name Josephine's come from?

Dearest Friends,

I've had it asked many times "where does the name Josephine come from?"

Well, the name comes from my Grandmother...Mimi Jo as we all called her. The story was as I was her "first grandchild" as she would often say and introduce me as. When I was little she kneeled down and said...you Kristie, me Jo. Hence the name Mimi Jo.

We lost her several years ago. I was blessed to stay with her 5 days and nights in the hospital. Though I would have never thought that would of been a blessing. I can tell you when it is someone you dearly love. Even being with them, caring for them in their final days, hours....it is truly a blessing beyond words. I could read the bible to her, care for her, make sure she had all she needed, pray with and for her, sing to her and well just talk. I was able to sit and encourage her for hours...just she and I mostly during this time.

See she was the one person in my life who no matter what, looked at me and with her whole heart would tell me I was just the most beautiful person. Not just outwardly but inwardly. She loved me with the unconditional love I imagine my Heavenly Father has for me. She taught me to love in a very special way.

So when my oldest daughter and I sat and tried to decide upon a name for our business...it was only her name that we both looked at each other and said...."that's it".

So we call our little dress studio "Josephine's" for my Mimi Jo.

She would love it. She knew how much I loved sewing, crafting. She was one of my greatest supporters. She also knew how important it was to me to serve the Lord in everything. And sewing dresses for little girls has been a great joy for years. It is so hard to find modest little girl dresses. So to be able to share this encouragement to other Mothers and Daughters and also help campture favorite memories. It is a blessing. And one I know Mimi Jo would have loved to see the culmination of it all.

God is so good and greatly to be praised. And I praise Him for this opportunity and for allowing me to have my Mimi Jo for 39 years. She is with Him now and that is one of my greatest comforts and promises for my day when I humbly will be with my Heavenly Father and my 2 sweet little ones, that my Mimi Jo will be there to greet me again with her loving heart.

The Lord's blessings,

Kris M.
