Everything has just down right crazy here. We’ve been busy getting everything ready for the party, which is in 2 days! I still need to go clean up the craft-house and clear off tables to use. That will take a good 4-5hours. I also made a list of “special” jobs that need to be done before the party. Amanda and I went to the grocery store yesterday to get some of the food we need for Saturday and then Father Sir went to Sam’s Club. I think we have everything, except plastic cups and plates *makes mental note*
I made up the food list for the party…
Hot dogs & Hamburgers - with buns and other toppings
Chips: original, sour cream-n-onion, BBQ, Doritos
Chip dip: onions, sour cream, and salt
Tortilla chips
7-layer dip: refried beans, tomatoes, onions, black olives, cheese, lettuce
Cheese dip & salsa
Granny Smith apples
Apple dip: cream cheese, brown sugar, cane sugar, walnuts, vanilla
Deviled eggs - farm fresh!
Green salad - with toppings.
Veggie tray: baby carrots, peppers, olives, pickles, broccoli
S’mores: marshmallows, chocolate, graham-crackers
Drinks: Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, root beer, lemonade, water, sun tea
Doesn’t it sound yummy? I think that’s all, but I could be forgetting something. I mght drink some Dr. Pepper on Saturday, but I don’t know. I am happy to tell you that I haven’t had any since Sunday. Aren’t you all proud? That is a far cry from the one 2-litter a day I was drinking before.
I’m not sure who’s making the cake. I might end up baking it myself and having someone else decorate. It’ll be a chocolate cake with whipped vanilla frosting. I don’t care for sprinkles. Have you ever heard of anyone decorating their own cake?! It’s not to be heard of!
We have about… let’s see… 22 people who are definitely coming (including the Dixon’s), and another family of 7 who aren’t sure. I’m kinda nervous about the party. I don’t like being in the center of attention to other people, just my family, so when everyone comes they’ll be asking “do you feel older”, “how did my day go?”, and “wishing me happy birthday” the whole time. I know you can’t tell from my blog (hehe), but I am pretty shy in front of people. I’m going to totally blush when they all sing “happy birthday” and bring out the cake. Dad, please no whooping in the middle, ok?
Tomorrow is my birthday. Do I feel any older? No, not really. It’ll be kinda weird to say “Hi, my name is Miss Jocelyn. I am a seventeen-year-old homeschooled student” though. Does feeling older come with birthdays? I’ve never felt older on my birthday, have you? |
