you poor thing! I've heard of stubborn as a mule, but a goat? You do need a hobble...did you and your parents check out the site I sent you? They were much less than $28.00...only $6.40 and some shipping...it's worth it to mail order. Before you do that...pull that hair up out of your way~! LOL

You sure are right... the videos were funny. I understand your plight, though... our sheep are not milk sheep and when we have to milk them for colostrum... it is what you have and more... definately a 3 person chore at times. We're planning to build something to assist us in this manner for the coming year. Just haven't decided what to do exactly. Dh's been renovating the barn... so when that is done, I'm sure he will think on the milking station .... maybe.... well, if he's not busy with other things... *grin*
Warmly, ~Melissa |

That's funny! I DO feel sorry for you! Especially after I've seen(and helped) Coie milk her very calm trained goat's! She opens the gate and they hop right up on the stand and stick their heads in! But she uses abucket of food in front of them so they eat it while she milks them.

Gerald says, try feeding the goat some feed while you're milking her. He said it worked with some cows he had that used to do the same thing.

I feel so bad for you! It must be horrible trying to milk her!!! I'll have to tell my mom that's another good reason not to have goats right now. LOL! I didn't get to see all of the video because it wouldn't let me but it's an improvement from yesterday where it wouldn't let me at all!!!
Hope things are going good!!!
Blessings,

I'm your Mom and I'll tell you what I want to:
FEED THE GOAT WHILE YOU MILK HER!!!
I know it doesn't work right now, but I think it will if you have it there for her. It worked before, when she had just kidded...
C'mon, J, listen to your Mommy now....
;)
Love you!!
