| I decided I would dedicate this Saturday Psalm& Praise to not only Rachael Kligmann of who I have been posting updates about, but also to the Lirette Family having lost Mr. Lirette back in May as well as 1month old Baby Joe, who was recently diagnosed with Enterovirus.
The praise song I choose this week is “Praise You In This Storm” by Mark Hall. This is a song that brings me teary eyes and quivering lips every time I hear it. It makes me stop and thank God for His wonderful, merciful, awesome love. The promise that Jesus is always with us, even when the raging storms come, sweeping away the firm ground beneath us.
Praise You in This Storm
I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it’s still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
“I’m with you”
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.
Chorus:
And I’ll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I’ve cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can’t find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away
Chorus
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
Chorus
After hearing the horrible news of my dear friend Sarah’s father’s death in May I couldn’t imagine what she and her family was going through. I couldn’t grasp what kind of heart ache she was/is experiencing. Yet through all this she and her family, especially her mother, kept praising Jesus is this terrible storm that had ripped her father from her life.
The awful event of Rachael Kligmann is also heartbreaking, but again her parents have kept their faith and trust strong in Jesus through this storm. They are still is raging seas, but still they are crying out to God and praising Him.
Hebrews 13:5
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
God does not promise us an easy or even enjoyable life, which is why it makes me so mad when Christians bulk against the Word because it goes against what they want… especially when you hear of events like the Lirette’s losing their father and parents, like Rachael’s, who may lose their children. It is not easy or enjoyable for them.
God never promised an easy life, but he does promise to always be with us. To NEVER forsake us. We need to learn to live our lives according to His Word and what he wants for our lives and to praise HIM during any storm.
Praying for you all during this storm…
