"Never doubt in the dark what God has shown you in the light". -Michelle Terrill

Hey, I know this is a bit late, but my friend Caroline sent this great idea to me, and I am just going to jump in today and start doing this. I think ideally starting a week before Father's Day would be good...but, who's ideal????

Hey, I don't know if I told you guys, I am making a father's day card where the kids and I are writing something every day (well, almost every

day) something we love and appreciate about Darrel. It has been really neat to see what the kids came up with like Laura's I love his happy face and I love that he likes daisies. Hee hee It's been a lot of fun. just wanted to share that with you. love, Caroline

Have a great day guys! Jenette.

So, I am doing cloth diapers now, and I am discovering how sorry the vinyl ones I can buy here at Walmart are... I am investigating my options. Today, I made a diaper out of some old teeshirts I was going to get rid of... it is a little on the small side, but ohhh sooo soft. One of the tee-shirts was one of my favorite sleeping tee-shirts, but it was (hmmm) less than modest at this point heh heh...very soft cotton. I am thinking, if I were a baby, I would rather have that on my bottom than what I have been using (I still have the first two dozen I started out with; it works out because I pretty much need to do them every other day for them not to stink in our climate). I am thinking that rather than buying more, I will try to make some more with the other tee-shirts I would be getting rid of  (and maybe some old towels or flannel)...hmmm.

Also, I have been investigating Diaper Covers. It seems that PUL is pretty popular for making covers right now, as well as fleece and wool. Now, I would have thought that wool would be awefully hot on a baby bottom in summmer, but I am intrigued by it. I am going to try PUL because I already bid for it on ebay and it looks like I am going to win. However, one website made a good case for going with the natural material: wool. So, how fun, I have been wanting an excuse to buy some of the beautiful wool I have seen offered by some fine people on this website. Now I can buy a little and make a little bum cover for my little sweetie, maybe I could buy some and make one a month. From what I read, they should last forever, so maybe my "next" little one will be able to use them as well...

Got to go, my husband wants to know if I have any snide remarks about his sermon...I don't have any...I'll just have to do better next time.

I am starting a new blog on homeschoolblogger. It will mostly be a journal, not so much informational nor helpful . Kind of like here...I have more questions, it seems than answers...and I keep forgetting all of the answers.

By the way, that's why I like the Bible...God is so much less changable than I am. I am glad someone out there has got it all together and is willing to share it with us. I love the part in James where it says, "If any man lacks wisdom he should ask it from God who will give it generously, without finding fault".

My husband has started what he calls an agblog (see the link). He calls it wannabefarmer. Hmm, hmm, hmmm!!!! I need to do some other things now.

Oh yeah, and I actually think those little cloth daipers are cute, and now my little baby girl isn't getting all red and rashy like she used to??? I had no idea that would happen!!

Have a great day!

Eureka! We have Eggs!

Well I can't do this for long, but I need to remember this for other times when I want to give up on something...

We finally have EGGS!

This has been two years in the process. We finally had some chickens make it past the fall after they were hatched and we finally have gotten eggs from those two hens. They are big and brown and beautiful. I was so shocked I couldn't believe it. I think it helped that we were not letting them out until late morning. They had evidently been collecting them in there shed. The eggs were very cold (colder than our frig), so we checked them out and they are good.

Hmmmm, what do you know???????!!!!

Ten things I would tell people not to try:

  1. Yell at your sister over your children's issues.
  2. Put bananas in your omelet with soy sauce (tried that in 6th grade)
  3. Camp in June in Missouri when you are 8 months pregnant.
  4. Have a baby in the hospital (unless you need to).
  5. Miss out on singing with your toddler.
  6. Stress out and yell over spilled milk.
  7. Miss a sunset.
  8. Take yourself too seriously.
  9. Forget to kiss your husband.
  10. Forget to ask yourself what you believe about who Jesus is.

Hey, I have been pretty busy, have you? I bet you have.

Joy is actually doing well (potty-training).

Today she actually said to me, "I pooped an pee-ed in the toilet". I checked and she did and she wiped herself.  I helped her wash her hands.

Later, she got poop smeared on her foot and on her underwear a bit. Okay, that's all a part of it isn't it?!!!!

So no, this isn't my first time to do this, but is is Joy's first time. So we are new at this experience together, and maybe I am learning to lighten up a bit!

Have a great day!

About Me

A non-green thumb who loves plants, and wants to know "why" about everything, likes to eat what is fresh, and is so amazed at the world God has made, and sometimes not so impressed by the things man can make, who wants to learn how to be a good care-taker of all that God has blessed us with, and be thankful and generous with it. Oh yeah, and I homeschool :)
