Good Morning..

How is everyone today? I am doing pretty good.. The kids are all off to school and I have the day off from school today.. I just heard geese fly over..  The little boys came home with fish from grandma's last night and one of Jeremiah's was dead this morning and the poor little guy was so upset.. I told him mommy and him would replace it later this week when we got a chance so he is feeling better..

So far today I have showered 2 kids, done the dishes, posted here. Still left to do is....

1. Fold the laundry

2. Mop bathroom floor

3. Finish homework

4. Appointment this afternoon

5. Meeting at the school at 4:30

6. Clean my bedroom

7. make cookies..

I think that bout takes care of everything for today... I hope you all have a wondeful productive day.. OH yes and I think it is going to rain here again.. We got up for school and it was still pretty dark out and the kids were like hello mom.. LOL

Well I am off to get busy.. I will check back in later..

God Bless,

Mars

I always forget my camera!

Yesterday afternoon, in the most glorious autumn sunshine, we went for a walk up on the Downs. I forgot my camera. I still don't have pictures of JJ. I forget my camera. Sometimes I take my camera. But I forget to use it.

I would like a good camera, as mind does not take very good pictures, but I have told myself, no way, no new camera, unless and until I can remember to take along and use the one I have !

We had a disappointing day yesterday. I was ill with a stomach complaint I suffer from now and again, possibly stress related, and church was not good. There are disappointing attitudes, I shall say no more. Then again, the children were very upset, as news of a birth was passed on to them by someone who, obviously, the family had seen fit to tell. Whereas, having promised the children they would let them know, they didn't bother to tell us. It's a small thing, but children are small things, and I hate how they are being drawn into the disappointment of church fellowships with such hierarchies, that humble folk like us never matter enough to be in on anything. If that sounds bitter - well it is a little.

It's a new day, and although the glorious sun has passed, and we are back to autumnal gloom, I will not let it get me down. But I also will not let my family be treated this way, when I know God has no favourites. Since my husband is equally upset about the situation, I fear another move may on the cards.

I’m Back!

I am home from vacation.. have been for a few days now and just getting life up and running again. Hubby and I had a great time! We flew south to get some of the last rays of sunshine and heat before we burrow in for the winter months.  We spent a lot of time pool side and out and about in the sun  . When our time was up we felt ready to come home and enjoy kids and family and look ahead to school time, holidays and a few projects that need to get done.

I spent a good portion of my afternoon packing orders. I said orders would go out tomorrow but did not realize until I got back home that tomorrow is a holiday. So if you ordered from me while I was on vacation your order will go out on Tuesday.

Is it looking and feeling like fall on your homestead? It is on mine! On the last day of my vacation I left a 90 degree day and a couple hours later landed in the cool, damp, and cloudy Pacific Northwest.. I knew I was home! LOL.. and I knew fall had really started. The last couple of days have been cold at night.. almost 35 one night but warming up into the low to mid 60’s and sunny during the day. And there is that familiar October nip in the air.

In the Home: I am currently working on refining my home organization notebook. I am working on the chores. I wrote a master list of all chores and now plan to put together a page for each day of the week showing what jobs need to be done for that day. Our school days take up a good portion of our day so it is nice to have to put a lot of thought into the house work that needs to be done each day. I won’t be trying to remember the last time the stairway was washed or the laundry room floor was mopped. What time is not spent doing school work and chores it is spent cooking and baking! .. and of course I have my little business to keep making products for. Nice to see and experience the blessings of children that know how to help around the house!

On Budgets: Is everyone enjoying the drop in gas prices?? I know we are.  Has anyone seen it go below $3.00 a gallon?  A couple days ago I was in town and I saw it at $3.19. Who would have thought I would get so excited about paying  $3.19 a gallon for gas! LOL..

Well I have a busy week ahead and I will be back blogging and sharing about it as the week goes by. For now I am happy to be and back to my little homestead and preparing for winter.

My daughter, Jaimie is at the hospital with her little baby.

He will be four weeks old tomorrow.

Well, when she went to change his diaper yesterday, she noticed a bump that resembled a boil on his bottom

It burst open and drained quite a bit of poison.

She rushed over to the hospital, and they kept him over night.

They are keeping him tonight also.

They aren't sure what is going on, but they want to get rid of the infection that is in it.

They even put him on IVs!

The poor little guy.

Not to mention, poor momma.

Please keep Jaimie and Gabriel in your prayers.

I'm sure Jaimie will be updating everyone when they make it home.

Be sure to check out her blog at http://www.homesteadblogger.com/JaimieBesaw/

Concerning Self Denial

Concerning Self Denial

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew 16:24-26 NIV

Shayna and Jeffie

Dora and her family from church came by last night for me to worm and give their dogs a set of shots.   It is so funny how people see things .   Dora was watching Jeffie how he was with Michelle (she stopped by for a bit) and she also watched how Jeffie is with Shayna.

Dora told me with tears in her eyes " Shayna is his mom"  I gave a sad smile and said I know.   She remembers them from church events and other home schooling events.  Dora knows Shayna is his aunt (tea as he calls her) and that Shayna has raised him for a lot of his life.

We are blessed that Shayna at 15 years old took on the roll.  They have such a strong bond.  He cries every time he has to go.

Here are some of Shayna's senior pictures taken last year at this time.  Shayna was 17 and Jeffie was 2.5.  We bought the hole cd so we have the funny ones too:

Jeffie will be 4 in January.

God Bless, mj

Emily's goat story

One Friday I was at work, and one of the grandmothers of one of Emily's classmates came in.  She said there was a goat at their school that day.  So when I got home from work, I said, "Emily, I heard there was a goat at your school today."  Normally she would have just nodded, but she said, "Yeah.  It pooped.  There was a blueberry in its poop.  It ATE its own poop!"  I talked to one of the moms and she said that the poop LOOKED like little berries, but yes, it did eat the poop...  Whatever floats your boat i guess...

http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/today/may20.html- How blessed these people were. They were probably the hardest workers America has ever seen. Without them, the land would not have been settled. A true testament to the bravery and strength of early settlers.

Bless all who pass this way!
