Thats farm life for you

If only we could gain wisdom without the trials!

       Dear reader

         Well okay here it goes.

Sparkey one of our Nubian doe's was found with what looked a gaping wound on her lower lip this morning and I had checked on her the night before so I knew it had to be fresh. Well after spending an afternoon worrying myself sick about her and her poor little lip and just descovering two more like it on her chin ( ones that had not been there that morning ) I suspected CL and I told my mother as much but I was very concerned because I had never seen any thing like it before. It was bright red and hard and it wasnt bleeding or weeping at all. When I first descovered it I did the only thing rational and I took her out of the pen and treated it like it was an open wound and much to my surprize and the surprize of my mother when it was so strangely dry. So we put her in a quarentine pen and we were going to watch her for a few days to see what was going to happen. And this evening mom was making several jokes about Sparkey going through puberty and she was just getting zits or maybe she is just getting cold sore's. So out of humor she looked up on the computer "Goat Herpies" and much to my dismay what came up was "Sore Mouth"!!!  Some thing I had been taught about last summer and I cant imagine how I could possibly not have thought about it but thats how life goes. And thats that. The farm is still safe and all the animals are here to stay, well at least for now.

Now there is proof to me that there is no such thing as an ordinary day. But I wish God would lay off on the reminders!

All of you remain safe and hold the Lord dear and close to your heart as he holds you close to his.

I am sure this will not be the end of my posts about my wonderful life down on the farm but I hope you will read often. Thanks for taking the time and I hope my life will be an encouragement to you not to give up when it gets tough "because the tough is what makes it great" and there is always a silver lining to a cloud no matter how dark it may seem. Endure your cloud and rememer that God will catch you when you fall and send you back off in the right direction it is up to us to follow the right path and trust in Him, always

Such wonderous adventures we have in our lives. So glad your now know what it is and how to treat it. God sure does lead us to the truth in many ways it is us finding it that brings us to see reality. Your mom knew in her spirit it seems but just had to bring it to light. Thanks for sharing. *U* rilda
