This year I would like to take up quilting and learn how to knit!  Would anyone have any suggestions on how to get started?  I would like to see if I could find a DVD or VHS to watch on my T.V. on how to get the basics of either topic.  I would like to take a class, but we live in the country and were not to close to a JoAnn Fabric's etc.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I was going to suggest the same site. I learned to knit by taking a class a JoAnn's in November, but the rest I am learning from that site.

I have only been quilting for about 2 years and i learned mostly through books and yahoo groups. I checked as many books out of the library as I could find and tried to understand the terminology.
www.quilterscache.com is a great site. Swapping quilt blocks with others on yahoo groups was fun too and they are always willing to help. If you are interested in the ones I belong to zip me a message or email.
