Humble Beginnings

Zucchini

Dinner last night consisted of smoked chicken and grilled zucchini along w/ mashed potatoes.  The zucchini came from our own garden (and it was so delicious!).  The potatoes came from the local farmers market.  It was such a wholesome meal.  It felt so good to eat something that we had grown - organically.  I did not use any chemicals on the garden and it's done surprisingly well.

I took pictures the other day and I've been meaning to post them.  I hope to do so later this week.

The popcorn stalks actually have 2" long ears of popcorn on them.  The kids think that's really cool.

And my gosh, the tomatoes are doing so incredibly well.  I have about 16 tomato plants and most of them have about 20 tomatoes on them.  I'm so amazed at how well they've done.  I'm really hoping that the garden continues its growth trend.  God has truly blessed our garden this year.  Yeah!

And did I mention that the cucumbers are almost ready so that I can start making pickles?  How cool is that?  I'll post more later ... time for bed now.
