Great Website!! - TONS OF HOUSEHOLD RECIPES
This morning I woke up with homemade cleaning detergents/cleaners on my mind. Don't ask me...it's just one of those things. Maybe it's because I made our own laundry soap yesterday.
Anyway, I thought, I wonder if there's a recipe for dish soap (since I'm the dishwasher). And low and behold, I found the BEST website: KitchenCraftsnMore
This website contains TONS of household and beauty recipes - all natural!! I found one for dishsoap (which I've included below) for those that are interested. And, I think the "soap flakes" refer to castile soap - although it doesn't say for sure but I think that's it from reading from some of the other recipes. Anyway, here's the dish soap recipe:
Lavender Dish Soap
2 Cups soap flakes 1 gallon water 25 drops of lavender essential oil
Place soap flakes and water into a pan. Heat over medium heat stirring occasionally until it boils and until soap dissolves. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes to thoroughly combine the ingredients. Remove from heat and let liquid partially cool, add the essential oil and stir. Pour into a clean plastic squeeze bottle or re-used dish soap bottle.
I'm going to find some castile soap (several on-line places to buy it, but I might try a local pharmacy and see if they carry it as shipping is outrageous!).
God's blessings to each of you!!

I too, have been looking for a good dish soap recipe. I don't know that I will be able to find soap flakes either. I will look and see if they are at Soaps Gone By site.
Blessings,
Trixi
