My Little Homesteader (could be Challenge, Day #5)
My daughter, who's 5 years old, is a little homesteader at heart. Last month I went through the kids' clothes and pulled out all the stained, worn clothes that they don't fit in anymore and bagged them up to turn them into rags.
Well, last night my daughter decides to make a bed for her cat, Biscuit. She loves her cat and takes care of him like he's her baby. Anyway, she pulls out this ol' basket I have, pulls out the worn clothes and makes a "liner" for the basket for Biscuit's bed. Then, she "fluffs it up" by adding more clothes so that it turns into a cushy-padding/liner for the basket.
And guess who slept in it this morning? Biscuit!! He curled up in it and she put a blanket on him this morning while he was sleeping.
What a little homesteader!!! She's learned to make use of what she has!!
Also, I made the powdered laundry soap this morning (from www.soapsgonebuy.com) and tried a few loads. I used a large, metal coffee can for the container and now I have a full bucket of laundry soap!! The beauty of it is the washing soda and borax were very cheap (found at our local grocery store). However, I could cut the cost of the soap if I could Fels Naptha locally. That's my next challenge!
Hope y'all are doing well!

What a cute story! My kids are great at finding new things out of old. It's fun to see what they come up with!
Blessings,
Carol

Good luck finding Fels Naptha locally. I can not find it here anywhere.
