This and That

I'll try to make this interesting, even though there isn't much going on around here this week.
Kids are doing well. Got school all done for the week, and it went pretty good. Jes is getting her "young and juicy" brain wrapped around multiplication with carrying numbers, and Michael is working on fractions. Got the tail end of another cold hanging around again.
School, going well, although the anatomy is more detailed and indepth that what I have had before. Makes for some interesting learning, and brings back lots of things I haven't thought of in a loooonnnggg time. My A&P instructor is good and can give interesting analogies to bring the point across. Have you ever thought of diffusion as a yak farm? Well, I never did either, but it made perfect sense. I'm still loving the massage part of the class too. We are working on the fronts of legs now, and that feels really good! It's really interesting to work with different partners and see how each person does the same "work".
Fibery stuff. I got half of a pair of mittens for the Dulaan project, I need to finish the other one, but can't until I get my son's sock of the needed needle size. Foot and toe are left on the sock, so maybe by the end of the weekend? Depends on how much homework I have. I was looking at some of my pattern books with a friend the other day, and the Muffatees fingerless mitts pattern from "Beyond Wool" has stuck in my brain. I tried to work them with some yarn I had laying around, but it wasn't going well, too thick for the pattern. Dug out some handspun lace weight stuff, which is actually too small of a yarn, but I'll give it a try. I might knit two strands together for a bit more bulk to it. I also dropped one needle size too as with my trial yarn I could put two hands thru. Just a tad too large! I still have the itch to start another shawl and this lovely cinnamon brown alpaca roving is calling to me to spin. I just haven't found a pattern that is calling to me also.
Critters are all doing well. Mrs Burbie didn't end up hatching out any babies. The last egg standing wasn't fertile, so bye bye it went. Maybe later, like in the spring, I'll give it another try and sneek some turkey eggs under whoever is busy being broody. The cold weather we have been having has cut down on their egg production again also. Still, I get about 12 +/- a day.
Need to go color in my anatomy book and finish up my homework! Bye Bye! { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 26 of 202 } { Next Page } |
