Answers to your questions

Several commenters have asked me questions that I have been very negligent in answering.  I will endevor to do so in this post.

better get out that maul (or do you have auto?)

This question in regards to our first fire of the year.  I split wood by hand with a sledge, wedge, or maul, depending on what works for that wood.

What is felted soap? and And I'm wondering what felted soap is as well!
To make felted soap, you take a bar of your favorite soap, wrap wool roving around it to cover the entire bar, and run it under water that is as hot as you can stand and mush the wool all over with your hands.  This makes the wool felt and shrink right over the bar of soap.  You end up with a bar of soap that has a built in face cloth.  Just be advised, some wool will not felt, so check yours first.  This is a great project for the kids to do, and they will have the cleanest hands you have ever seen!  Just don't burn them with hot water please!!!

ok now about that nostepinne thing, does it make a centerpull ball?

Yes, that is exactly what it does.  You wind it on in a diagonal on the nostepinne and turn as you wrap and it creates the same thing as a ball winder, which I forgot to take with me that day.  You can then ply your yarn back onto itself from both ends.  Pretty cool!  Nostepinnes were though to originate in the Scandinavian area.

Do you eat your fat turkeys?

No, we dont eat our friends.  We hope to breed our pair next spring and have some more.  We also may get a few new turkeys next spring that will be for eating.

 What breed are they?

He is a Bourbon Red turkey.  We have a hen and a tom.

On another note, no goat baby yet.  I swear she is trying to wear me down with this.  She has been acting funny this week and at one point in time I thought she was in labor, but she either stopped that or she really wasn't.  She was pacing, crying, looking like she was pushing, had some discharge, and so on, but alas, she fooled me again.  Her udder is starting to fill up more on the side that was soft, so I suppose she is doing something.

I hope this answers all the questions that I have recieved!

Gotta run!  Bye Bye!
