Homestead Journal at Fat Turkey Farm

This and That

Things seem to be drying up around here.  No storms for the past two days now.  I have heard we are in for more though over the weekend.  Makes me leary to set the fencing back up incase we get flooded again.  With it still being so damp, it wouldn't take much to set it to flowing again.  It's still kind of damp and mucky down the fenceline anyhow, and I would prefer not to sink up to my ankles in mud!

The finger looks worse than the pic I put up a few days ago.  It sure did swell up!  I didn't think it would get so large without exploding.  I prob should have gone and gotten the nail drilled, but that's not something that sounds very appealing to me.  For the time being I can't knit, spin, and weaving is a chore since I can't grab the weft threads very well.  I honestly hate sitting down and not having something to work on in my hands.

My friend Sharon is coming over today to look over Bertha and tell me what needs to be fixed, replace, and tied up.  It would sure be nice to get it all fixed up and actually weave on it.  I am still working on the piece on the two harness little loom, and it has grown to about 18 inches or so.  The edges are starting to look better and be more even.  I might be getting the hang of it!

Time to feed the girlies!  Bye Bye!

I'm so glad that you and your family weren't hurt in the floods.

Thanks for the wonderful information.

I hope you thumb feels better soon, and thank God the floods didn't do damage to your home. I don't like sitting with my hands idle either...hope you heal fast!

Hope the thumb is better, and that goat appreciates your hard work. Dry weather sounds like a good thing in your neck of the woods right now!
