Meet Bertha

I would like you all to meet Bertha.  Bertha is the 4-harness loom that I recently aquired and is now living in my living room.  My friend and fellow spinner and weaver Sharon, who rehab'd my other loom is coming over next week to look Bertha over and see what needs to be done to get her in working order.  Meantime, I will be getting some sandpaper and giving some of the rough spots a going over so I don't cut up my warp threads nor my arms, feet, or any other body part that comes in contact with her.

So that's Bertha!

Went up to Flagstaff yesterday for a family picnic and to see my daughter who is up camping with the in-laws for a week.  We had a really nice cook out/birthday party, although it did storm quite a bit.  Jes is having a great time and doesn't want to come home.  They may be taking a day trip up to the Grand Canyon on Friday, since Jes hasn't seen that yet.  I was glad to be home though, since we had to drive thru really bad thunderstorms on the way home with flash flooding a big potential.  It was raining so hard, it was almost impossible to see the road to drive on.

And we are getting a storm now, so I need to scoot!  Bye Bye!

Congrats to you on your new loom. May you have a wonderful partnership with Bertha. I grew up in Los Alamos, NM and I remember a friend's mom had a loom and made the most beautiful woven items. I miss the southwestern art. I learned to oil paint while I was there, which I still enjoy. Now my subject is the Big Sky Country! Blessings to you........Denise (prairiemom)
