Wrong Era

Have you ever thought that you were born in the wrong time? Did you ever say to yourself "I should have been alive during the ______ period?" I find myself saying that more and more often as time goes by.
I think I should have been alive during the colonial American era, during the years 1770-1780 in particular. Politically, I would fit in with disagreeing with the king, and wanting freedom from tyranny. Homewise, I would have been quite happy to be spinning, weaving, knitting, baking, and all the other sorts of things those women did on a daily basis. Yes, life was harder then, but life can also be hard today too.
In lots ways, my life today parallels their lives of 236 years ago, except I have indoor plumbing.
I often wonder if maybe I had a past life and did live during that time. Maybe somehow that has carried over into this life and is influencing how I live today. Do we ever really know what drives us to live a simpler life? To try and make our way in this world by doing for our own? To be more self sufficient?
What do you think? { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 90 of 202 } { Next Page } |
