Spinning Stuff

I have been able to get some spinning done this week. I have one bobbin of the Jacob full and started a second one last night. In trying to keep the bobbins even, I put 23 rolags on the first one, and will put 23 on the second. Hopefully I won't end up with lots of yarn left on one bobbin.
Yeah, right, like THAT'S gunna work.
I got one bag of the dark brown Jacob washed. By bag I mean the bags that oranges or onions come in, those mesh-y ones. Can't really tell the difference between washed and unwashed other than by feel. It still looks dark brown. The water after washing was dark brown too. This was one dirty fleece. I need to pick thru more of it and get it ready for washing.
There is about 4" of the Icarus shawl done now. The body pattern is very easy, the border will be more difficult. The Gatsby sweater has been put on the shelf for now, I just dont want to deal with cables at the moment. Course its sitting there giving me dirty looks and I think it wants to push the Icarus shawl off the shelf and onto the ground. I have put them on different shelves just so that doesn't happen.
I think I have all my books, needles, and fiber finally organized to where I want them. I can actually find the knitting book or set of needles that I need now. At the old house, everything got pushed into the corner to make room for the rest of the "stuff" and it was impossible to find anything. I still haven't been able to locate my drop spindle though. Somehow that has gone AWOL on me. Last time I saw it was at a demonstration. I sure hope someone didn't pick it up and take it home with them, although that is what I suspect. So, I am drop spindle-less at the moment. It was a lovely spindle too, bottom whorl, handmade by a friend of mine's husband, good weight on it, nice long spin time, and sadly, very gone.
Gotta run! Bye Bye! { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 129 of 202 } { Next Page } |
