Another Chicken lost

Sadly, we found another one of our birdie girls had passed away overnight.  She was one of our original flock and was 3 1/2 years old.  She was a good layer, giving us many large white eggs.  Her name was Otherlorpie.  She was a beautiful black Austerlorp.  She will be missed.  She didn't appear to be sick, and wasn't injured, so we arn't sure why she died.  Age maybe?

We had thunderstorms come thru yesterday and it managed to knock down our wood that was all neatly stacked up.  Think it may have been a microburst that blew it over.  It was a nice change from our usual sun and heat.  We are supposidly going to be getting more of the same today, so we shall see.

Time to get the bread made.  Bye Bye!

It's horrible when the hens just die...at least when they are caught by something it gives us something to *blame* I guess....she has given you good service though.

I don't know if three is old for a hen, but I'm sorry you lost her. Lovely rose for Mother's Day!
