Welcome to the 6th Homesteading Carnival! I did decided *not* to quit the carnival! lol No, really I know this will take awhile to get going.

Let's join Amy from Simple Folk as she tells about her Berry Pickin' Day and her favourite Cobbler Recipe. I've never been berry pickin' myself nor made cobbler pie, but you gotta stop by and look at her pictures and try her recipe!
 
Catherine Ann has so many great recipes posts over at her blog, Ramblings from my Heart & Home. She posted a really appetizing recipe, Fresh Tomato and Black Olive Salsa!! Does that sound wonderful or what? I know I could really go from some salsa and chips right now.
 
GrandmaRosie shows how to PICKLE ONIONS. Do you can food? This might be a great addition to your shelves.

Of course, Gerald is a canning expert and shares his knowledge about canning and the items needing. He gives great information "about what is needed to get started canning" Join him over at Shedding Notes to glean to great info.

 

GrannyG at the Laughingstock Farm posted about bread pudding... need to use your stale bread? well, here is a great way to "waste not, want not". GrannyG has a ton, a lot, a bazillion recipes are her blog...

 

First garden.... first crop... Mmager over at Pleasant Valley Homestead posts about her first garden and first crop of the season.

Amanda at Dreaming of Simplicity asks about Local Foods and Seasonal Foods. She says, "Lately I have been reading a lot of information about eating locally and it is something I really think is worth taking a look at." Stop over there to give your advice, opinion or see what others said on the subject.

MusketMan over at The Scarecrow of Andover posted about Homemade Sidewalk For Chalk Use and also how to make Homemade Sidewalk Chalk! Wanna have some fun with your kiddos? Check these out!

Amanda over at My Learning Experience shares her adventures with her horses. She has a lot going on right, I can say that because I live with her. She also shares a wee bit about my goat, who has to be wrangled to be milked. What a chore. Read all about it - Happenings at our Homestead..

KeriMae over at Happy Home asks the question - Is There Treasures in Trails? At the heart of a homemaker, KeriMae shares her heart about friends, bloggers and offers encouraging words. She says, "I wanted to share with you some blogs you may wish to read." Grab a cup of coffee and stop over there for some H2H.

Hungry? Check out Makayla over at DolphinGirl's as she posted one of her family's favourite recipes: Cookies! MMMNNN! Molasses. Delicious ... If you're 12 or 42... you can make and enjoy these.

Christine Read has some really neat pictures from around her homestead in Alabama. Pictures of her baby boy, her garden pickin's and her lovely porch. Stop over at Nurturing The Generations and "look" all about it.

MandyGrace of Where Righteousness and Mercy Kiss shares about her "Recap of our Hot Fourth" and posted some interesting pictures of the pie-eating contest, potato sack racing and more. She also got to an "went to an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration at the historic farm nearby". How fun would that be?

And since it has been so hot and everyone is doing outside activities, Jacque of Seeking Rest in on the Homestead shares "Some good info for everyone to know about heat stroke as well as my own personal experience with heat conditions while working outside in our garden." Keep Safe in the Summer Heat, will you?
