Photo's From The Pumpkin Patch

Ok...there are alot of photo's in this one, so bear with me if they load slow. We have an ancient dial-up connection here and trust me...they might load slowly for you, but that's nothing compared to uploading them on my end!

First off, Saturday we visited a pumpkin patch with the handful of children from our church. No, we don't do the whole halloween thing at all. Honestly, you can dress a pig in pretty clothes and take him to church, but it's still just a pig and he simply doesn't belong there....still, we went. I'm a hypocrit, I guess.

The 'patch' was a large farm with several fields of pumpkins you could select from yourself (do you know how long it takes children to select their own pumpkin???? It's a loonnggg time, trust me!)
They had a large, inflatible slide thing, a race track set up with peddle cars and tricycles and such, a ring for pony rides, a few animals for the petting zoo and a hay bale maze in a small barn.
We played a short while, then took the hay wagon out to the fields and everyone got a pumpkin to bring home -- we'll be canning ours this week.

I'll just share the pictures and you can look around with our family...
Here's my group...sitting on top inside the inflatible bouncer slide...they are trying to decide who gets to be the brave one and head out first. There's Jacob, David, Matthew turned around backwards and Miss KatiAnne (and Hunter, our Pastor's grandson). I noticed that most of the 'city kids' waited very patiently while the strange "amish" children tested themselves here. LOL...what those poor folks must have been thinking! I know...we do need to get out and about more, don't we?
The first ones out? Wild Child, of course...and Miss KatiAnne...

It was David's birthday and he was convinced the whole day was for him. The inflatible slide posed some issues for him, though. He simply doesn't have the weight to keep him on it -- he would bound over the top and begin to slide down, just to bounce most of the way down because it was more 'springy' than he was 'weighty'

And what happens when, as D at As Simply As We Can mentioned on her blog, when country goes to town?
The poor country children are duped by the city folk into milking a wooden cow....yes, apparently my children need to get out a bit more. I said that, didn't I? These are those moments when you do need a bit more of being 'of' the world and not just 'in' it I think ;o)

Here is eldest and youngest daughters, Miss Jennifer and Miss Emily. They look so impressed with the converted cotton wagon ride to the field, don't they? Honestly, Miss Emily about fell asleep with the motion of the wagon across those fields -- both on the way out and coming back in! It is a good picture of the two of them, though, even if Miss Jennifer didn't want her's taken.

And poor Miss Emily in the field...she was looking at me as though I had abandoned her to carry her pumpkin alone so I could take pictures of her misery. Note to other parents: Ok, I sort of did...but *Dad* wanted to see lots of pictures of the day...I had to be just a by-stander! He made me do it. It's all Dad's fault :o) Besides, doesn't carrying your own pumpkin, by yourself, across the whole field, promote character or something?
She made it about 5 steps toting that pumpkin before she put it back down and said she was too heavy to carry it.

But, along came David to encourage her...he took a few steps with his pumpkin, then came back and carried hers...back and forth like that all the way out of the field (yes, so Mom could take pictures...LOL)

Here is KatiAnne with her pumpkin, Johanna with her choice, and way out there is Matthew, trying to help Miss Ashley from church select hers so he can help her carry it back to the wagon. Now, Miss Ashley comes from rather stout farm raised Southern stock...she really didn't need help carrying a pumpkin, but Matthew, well...always the gentleman :o)

After the pumpkin field, we stopped back at the farm kitchen and got some drinks before heading home. The children all played in the race track section. They had several different bicycles and tricycles and such.
Miss KatiAnne grabbed one of the large tricycles and took off -- with Abigail behind her telling her she needed to pick a different racer so her peddling wouldn't lift her skirt above her knees! She was right -- KatiAnne made about half a round on that track, with constant pulling on her skirt and apron, and chose a different ride. No one listens when Mom says to wear their bloomers.....

That was about it for the day. They had some huge, nice looking mum plants set out for sale...bright yellows, deep reds, oranges and some purple-shades. I almost bought a couple, but then I remembered the dogs...who would waste little time in dragging them off the porch; And the cats...who would waste little time in using them for a new litter box out there. They were better left where they were.

All in all, the day was fun for everyone. And I put gas in the van before heading out and paid $3.05 a gallon. Not a bad price, considering, but we get over to Blue Mountain and their gas was already down to $2.52 a gallon!!! I could have gotten 15 gallons instead of the 12 gallons I got for my $40. Ugh, ugh and ugh!!!! Still...all considered, the $3.05 was better than the $3.18 it was on Thursday, so I didn't suffer too terribly much. And those little 12 gallons was far more gas than my van has seen in a good 3 months now, so all was well.

Friends,

I just read a news report where 3,000 Christians are fleeing the Norther Iraq Province of Ninevah.  They are being persecuted, and are being threatened . They may lose their very lives.

Please, keep the Christians in the Persecuted Church in Iraq in your prayers tonight.

According to a statistic from www.persecutedchurch.org ,  there will be an estimated 165,000 Christians who will die this year for their faith in Christ.

May God bless & protect  these souls who are in harm's way -- and may they stay strong in their love for the Lord!

A "SUMMERLIKE" FALL DAY

Oddly, it was enjoyable today to sit outside to read a bit and to actually *not* hear any birds singing.  I guess the mating and nesting season is over, and they just weren't around singing today, which seemed odd.  I adore listening to the birds sing, don't get me wrong, but there was something so peaceful about hearing nothing but a lone cricket chirping and no other sounds at all.  Every now and then I'd hear one of our pigeons cooing or a blue jay calling to another one, but for the most part it was just me, and the cricket and the balmy fall day.

One of the things I love about living here is that sometimes it's just dead quiet outdoors.  Not during the spring or summer with all the frogs and birds and crickets etc., but moreso in the fall and winter.  I grew up in a town near enough to highway I-75 to hear the frequent or sometimes constant buzzing sound of trucks and cars speeding along.  Other friends who live in the country also have highways or busy roads nearby to ruin their peace.  It's amazing how far the noise of cars and trucks can carry!

Carter joined me to read on the porch for awhile, and then we wandered around the yard and property checking things out and taking some photos as we often do.  Today I was trying to photograph the inside of the groundhog hole that I ended up with half of my leg down the other day before I fell while carrying my grandson.  We were both fine, and I'm stil laughing about it.  I was hoping to get a pic of a groundhog looking back at me, but no such luck!  This is all I got:

Maybe I need to try at night!?  I'm sure he hides far back in the tunnel and wouldn't come out that far.  I tried sticking the camera in quite a ways, but was a little worried about my hand....lol!

The bumblebees were all enjoying the last days of my giant marigolds as they collected nectar like crazy today.  While we photographed them, they buzzed all around us, luckily not seeming to be interested in stinging us!

Eventually the mosquitos became too thick, and chased me back indoors.  I always wonder what the purpose of the pesky mosquito is.  I guess I need to try to find out, since I despise them so for ruining so many evenings of nice weather for me!  My kids are much tougher than I am, and have remained outdoors with their friends playing soccer and riding the go-cart around the property this evening.

Earlier today Shannon and I enjoyed sitting in the warm, almost too hot sun, to watch Carter's soccer team win 11-0.  So far they have not lost a game this season!  On our way home we stopped and browsed a moving sale down the road to our west and found a few small treasures.

Tomorrow we'll travel to my son Landon's college to watch him play soccer with his team.  His ankle is still recovering from a bad sprain, so hopefully he can play!  My mother and father-in-law will be coming too, and then coming back to town to spend the rest of the day and night with us.

It's hard to belive that a week ago we were wearing hats:  doggies.jpg picture by deke62and warm jackets and sporting red noses, cheeks, and hands after some time outdoors, and today we were back to beautiful summerlike temperatures!

A Lovely and Helpful Article on Washing Dishes

{ Posted by Sara }
{ 08:02, Saturday, October 11, 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }

On my wonderings around the web, I stumbled upon a site called Shepard's Hill and found a wealth of information on just about every topic on homemaking and homesteading you could imagine. And one in particular that I wanted to share, being that my recent topic was about washing dishes was this one.

Washing Dishes

Yippeee!!! Yahooo!!! It is time to wash the dishes!!!!  How exciting!

Okay – yes, I know.  Washing dishes is not THAT exciting and certainly does not deserve that much hype, right?!  I hope that by the end of this article that you will have changed your mind. I pray that you will have a new found joy and excitement in this mundane task that never seems to be finished.

Let’s first look at how dishes need to be washed.  Over the 30 or so years that we have had gatherings in our home, I have been blessed to see many folks helping with dishes.

It is almost a study in human nature to see the progression of sisters in the kitchen when a meal is done.  Some will immediately head for the sink and start water running, soap squirting and cloths whisking away.  When there are a couple of “dishwashers” in the group I get tickled to see them almost waiting in line for their turn.  They will step up the minute something has been washed and rinse, or they grab a towel and start to dry and then there is yet another putting away.  It is fun to see if the dishwasher can keep up with the dish rinser and dish “putter away”.  One of my favorite aspects is the chatter that goes on in a kitchen full of women cleaning up.  There is a steady hum, with giggles and chuckles and sometimes even a song will rise through the activity.  I LOVE IT!!  I would have get-togethers just to enjoy the clean up time.

Of course, then there are some who are not dishwashers. I get tickled with them too.  They so want to be a part of the events but they can’t stand to wash dishes, so they will head to the potty or some other far off place until all the washers, rinsers and putters away are in position.  It isn’t that they don’t want to help.  They just haven’t realized yet that every pair of hands is needed and more importantly wanted.

I wonder sometimes if these were the children whose parents perhaps shooed them out of the kitchen because they were “under foot”.  Now I will say – we shoo children out of the kitchen when we are cleaning up after a big event, but when it is just our family, we put the children to work.  Our girls were washing dishes when they were 6 and 7 and they were drying and putting away not long after.  We always made sure to let them practice on the plastic items or the forks and spoons first.  This is so they can have an accident with no breaking. It is up to every mother to train their children to care for a household.  We must teach them proper procedure in each aspect of kitchen work from cooking to sweeping to cleaning out the ‘fridge.

I want to share with you some important things I have learned over the years in washing dishes.  First step, and I learned this from my Daddy, you must begin with HOT water - As hot as your hands can stand.  There is no way to clean off food particles properly and completely with cold water.  I would venture to say that you could even do without soap if you had to as long as you had plenty of hot water.  We fill the wash pan with hot water and then add a bit of soap.  You don’t have to squirt soap in an endless stream – that is wasteful.  Just a small amount is enough to do the job.  Then there is an order to the items being washed.  We always start with the drinking glasses.  Of course, if there is something thick – like V8 or chocolate milk or a milkshake in the glass you will need to rinse that out first before putting it into your water.  I fill the sink with several glasses or cups so that the others can soak while I wash each one.

Then comes the rinsing.  Again HOT water!  My father retired from the Birmingham Fire Department after 25 years and he was a stickler on washing and rinsing with HOT water.  The reason was that as the men took turns washing dishes some of them would not be so diligent and then they would end up in the bathroom with diarrhea from soap being left on the dishes.  Not a good thing when you are a fireman or anyone else!  One of our daughters had a problem with remembering to rinse in hot water and after a month of periodic diarrhea running through the family – I thought it was a virus – I finally realized that it happened whenever she was doing the dishwashing.  This was quickly taken care of and we haven’t had any problem with it since.

After we wash the drinking glasses then we do the silverware.  I think that anything that touches your mouth should be the first thing to be washed.  It is usually the least dirty of the dishes and you want to have the least dirty water to wash in.  Be sure to examine the silverware to make sure that all food particles are cleaned – especially the spaces between the tines of the forks.  Mononucleosis is one disease that can be caught by eating from dirty silverware. YUCK!!  Another area that seems to be missed is knives that have wooden handles.  Check the edge of the wooden handle where it attaches to the metal of the knife.  This is a really nasty spot.  Wood cannot be sterilized so you need to make sure that you have scrubbed this and poured hot water on it to get it clean.

Next we do the dishes.  It is important to scrap the plates (give the scraps to the chickens, dogs or hogs) and then rinse them if they are very dirty, before you put them in the dish water.  Again, put them all in the water so that they can soak a bit while you are washing each one.  It makes for a much easier scrubbing when you get to the next one.  Children are really bad to miss washing the back of the dish.  They will do a great job on the front and then the rinser finds mashed potatoes stuck to the bottom.  Double check.

After the drinking glasses, silverware and plates are done, then you can progress to the serving dishes and then the cookware.  If you have had a large meal it is not unusual to have to redo the dish water with fresh.  This is one good reason to use a washpan instead of filling the sink.  You can get plastic washpans from the dollar store.  Use the waste water to water plants.  Just don’t allow the food particles in the bottom of the washpan to pour out.  When washing serving pieces and cookware, sometimes you will need something more than elbow grease.  We use a plastic scrub bud and if that is not enough we will use an SOS pad.  You must keep in mind that SOS pads will rust if allowed to sit in water.  They just need a minimum amount of water to work and they will scratch china and enamel so only use them on heavy metal items that have a no scratch surface.

Just a note here on cast iron. Once you have seasoned your cast iron you really shouldn’t use soap on it.  Generally you can wash them out with a damp cloth or even a paper towel.  If you do use water, be sure to dry them thoroughly and re-grease them.  Sit cast iron items upside down in the oven and turn it on 250 degrees.  Once it reaches that temp cut the oven off and you will keep your cast iron seasoned well.

Okay, I think we have covered it all.  Oh, one more thing.  If you use a lot of plastic – a tip is to rinse it in vinegar to get greasy residue off.  It works really well. Now, what about all that joy and excitement I mentioned.  Here it is.  Have you really considered what those dirty dishes and messy kitchen mean?  So many people in our nation have been incredibly blessed in their lifetime to never know what hunger is.  Some have been in a bind and weren’t able to get pizza sometimes or perhaps they couldn’t go out to eat after church on Sunday every week, but they really have never known what it was like to miss a meal because there was no food.  Or be a parent and know that the next meal was no where to be seen.  I have been there - on both sides of this – child and parent.  Hunger is a terrible, lonely thing.  It renders a person to a state of helplessness and hopelessness that many in this country cannot even understand.  When I see the mound of dirty dishes in my kitchen and the stack of cookware to be scrubbed – it brings a swelling joy to my heart that I cannot find words to explain.  Those dishes, those pots, pans and spoons all mean one thing – my family is not hungry.  There is food for them and for me.  My babies are not in bed crying because their tummies are empty.  Praise God forever because today – TODAY – I know that we are taken care of.  HALLELUJAH!!!!  My God Reigns!

The next time you are facing a sink full of dirtiness, lift up your head and thank God because that work is there as a sign of blessing!

Isn't that the truth, knowing that those dishes are there because you were able to feed your family, and praising the Lord for it! With such uncertain times, it makes me feel blessed that we do have enough money to feed our family, and the common sense to start stocking up, so that when hard times do hit us, we'll be ready.

Have a blessed weekend!

A Day in the Life of Me.

Friday, Oct. 10:

Our busy cleaning day is usually on Friday.  Friday's consist of dusting, vacuuming, & mopping.  Before I started vacuuming with my piece of junk Bissell sweeper I took it apart and gave it a really good cleaning because it wasn't sucking very well.  After cleaning it I started vacuuming.  It still wouldn't suck like it should.  I mean, I had to go over a little piece of lint 8 times before it would pick it up.  THAT WAS IT!  I WAS DONE!  I told my girls that I would be right back.  I was going to Walmart to buy a new sweeper.  I was just going to get a Hoover but I seen that they had a Dyson.  After thinking about it for awhile in the aisle I decided to buy the Dyson.  It was on clearance and didn't cost a whole lot more than one of the other sweepers.  I paid $250 for it.  The other sweepers were around $180 so I figured I got a good deal.  So yes, I am the PROUD owner of a DYSON!!  It is a homemakers best friend!!!  I love this machine!  I actually LIKE sweeping the carpets now!

My youngest, Katie, had her best friend, Courtney, spend the night.  They had a scavenger hunt at our library for the middle schoolers from 6-8 pm so I dropped them off there.  When I came home I started making supper.  I tried a new recipe for pizza from my Bisquick cookbook.

Stuffed-Crust Pepperoni Pizza

prep time: 20 mins.                                 start to finish: 35 minutes

  • 3 c. Bisquick Mix (I used my homemade version)
  • 2/3 c. very hot water
  • 2 T. olive or vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c. diced pepperoni
  • 4 sticks Colby-Monterey Jack cheese (from 10-oz. pkg), cut lengthwise in half
  • 1 can (8oz) pizza sauce (I used my homemade sauce)
  • 2 c. shredded Pizza or Mozzerela cheese (8oz)
  • 1 c. sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 c.)
  • 1 can (2.25 oz) sliced ripe olives, drained
  1. Move oven rack to lowest position.  Heat oven to 450*.  Spray 12" pizza pan with cooking spray.  Stir Bisquick mix, hot water and oil with fork until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes.  Let stand for 8 minutes.
  2. Pat or press dough in bottom and 1 inch over side of pizza pan.  Lightly press 1/4 c. of the pepperoni along edge of dough.  Place string cheese over pepperoni along edge of dough, overlapping if necessary.  Fold 1-inch edge of dough over and around cheese and pepperoni; press to seal.  Bake 7 minutes.
  3. Spread pizza sauce over crust.  Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheese, remaining 1/2 cup pepperoni, mushrooms, bell pepper and olives.  Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese.  Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until crust if golden brown and cheese is melted.  8 servings.

It was a hit!  Yummy!

Saturday, Oct. 11:

I spent most of the day doing some sewing.  I am putting a dress together.  A cape dress but it's a little different than the last one I made.  After putting my sewing away I did half the dishes the I went to lay down for a bit because my back is giving me some pain.  It always hurts when I've been sewing for a long time.  I ended up falling asleep for a half hour!  When I got up I finished up the dishes, swept the floor (with my new Dyson! ~Smile~), washed my hair, and then made supper.  We are having haystacks tonight.  DH has been gone most of today.  This morning he went out hunting & then he had a golfing tournament for our church to play in so he won't be home until around 9 pm so it's just us girls this evening.

Until next time...

The cool night air

Tonight as I sat here working on the blanket that I am making for my nephew, I was again amazed by the weather that we've been having. It is pleasant during the day, it was up to 83, I believe inside the house, but when you went outside the breeze was cooling.

We opened all of the windows in the boys room, even though they have popped out the one screen. I will have to get some more of the stuff that holds the screen in place tomorrow.

The crickets are making their music again tonight as were the coyotes. Tonight they did seem to be a little bit closer, it also sounded as though it was coming from a different direction. But they have stopped or moved on for now, I might hear them again during the night.

I saw on another blog a great little shelter for goats, that I am probably going to make for our two girls. We have Boer goats that are probably more like pets than farm animals. But they are currently on leads and BBQ got herself tangled the other day, making her foot swell up. But she is much better now, however it really makes me want to move them into a fenced area where they can both run and play. So I am going to get more T posts and some fence, might also run hot fence to make sure they don't get out. I think that they would both enjoy being able to run around and bonk heads.

I might also try this shelter once we have a milk cow. Just depends on how tall she is.

I tried to take some pictures of the children outside tonight as the sun was setting, but my little digital just couldn't handle the distance shots, everything was coming up blurry or just terrible. I am going to look for a nice SLR digital, I've got a great 35mm. Which I might bless my sister with. She is really into photography and has a great eye. Not sure that she would want it though, as just like me she would probably rather have a digital. We are all spoiled with instant photos. Off to ebay to see what it out there.

Debi

Finding Simplicity in doing dishes

{ Posted by Sara }
{ 08:38, Friday, October 10, 2008 } { 3 comments } { Link }

Okay, I have a confession to make. I HATE washing the dishes! It is the least favorite of all my chores, and I really don't mind my other duties that much, but for some reason I have never been able to find peace or happiness in washing the dishes. I've tried, oh, how I've tried.

It all goes back to childhood, I guess. The dishes were my job as soon as I could reach the sink. We never had a dishwasher until I was about to move out of the home. My mom would inspect the dishes each time I did them, and if she found one speck left unclean, I had to wash all of them all over again. This made me learn to wash the dishes very well, but at the same time despise the job.

So as soon as I moved out and got married, well, at first we ate off disposable everything, and if any dishes were dirtied, they sat in the sink sometimes for days. (I know, I'm so ashamed) After we bought our first house, a gift from my husband was a dishwasher, and I've had one almost ever since. After we filed bankruptcy and had to move into a rental, I even talked my husband into buying me a portable dishwasher, which is what I still have.

Now here's the problem, my kitchen is kind of small and shaped awkward so that there is not room for the dishwasher, so I'm not able to use it, but I found out that Maytag sold a conversion kit to make the portable into a regular dishwasher, and I even already have a hole cut for it . I ordered the conversion kit over 3 months ago, and they have decided that they don't want to make this part any more, and I am getting my money back and now have a dishwasher being used as a clutter catch all sitting in my living room. The last few months I have wavered between using disposables and having a sink full of dishes all the time.

So I am learning to find simplicity in washing dishes, maybe even some peace and happiness. I sat there today with my hands in the hot and soapy water and the breeze blowing in from the window above my sink, and the sudden quietness, (my children were locked playing in their rooms quietly, for once) and I felt such peace as I washed those dishes, so much so, that I actually looked forward to washing them after lunch and dinner. (Crazy, huh?!) I suddenly realized that washing the dishes gave me a sort of mental break. I didn't really have to think about what I was doing. What a blessing this has been.

Cleaning the house

Today we've been cleaning the house. The boys are working in finding the floor in their bedroom, it is a sad affair. But once they are done we are going to sort the toys and only keep certain things. Then once the weather changes those toys will be packed up until next fall. They need to learn that they must take care of everything that they have.

Right now Thomas is vacuuming the kitchen because one of my large baking dishes broke into ten thousand tiny pieces. Sadly this is one of those 10x15 glass pans. I had found them at Wal-Mart for 5.00 a piece, I am glad that I do have two others.

I am also looking to up grade our oil lamps, Deanna has mentioned that there is a place over by her that sells Alladin lamps for around 60.00. I might have her pick me up a couple before we meet up again. She is also working on some dresses for me and Rachel with a pattern that she has and has yet to give me. Perhaps she will have them ready next week and we can meet up in Tupelo. There is a new Barnes and Noble over there and it is so nice to have a real book store now.

I think that the boys and I are going to fix the riding mower tomorrow, maybe check and see if Walmart still has that push mower on sale and tackle this place.

Off to get something for supper.

The Answer to our Financial Woes

{ Posted by blessed mom }
{ 03:50, Friday, October 10, 2008 } { 8 comments } { Link }

The "financial" woes of our nation are on the hearts and minds of many in our nation right now.

I am not surpised in any way by the economic crisis we face. What did Americans think would happen when it has lived on a steady diet of debt and allowed our government for decades to get deeper and deeper into national debt? It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that our nation's economic crisis is due to poor financial management. We can't point a finger at our nation and it's leaders without taking a good look at our own lives. Americans are addicted to debt. YES, I say addicted.  Pretty strong words, ya think? Americans want everything and they want it right now. They want their government programs and don't realize that everything comes with a price tag. They want their new cars, new homes and fancy electronic gadgets and don't think twice about putting down plastic to pay for it.

Then there is the concern over the upcoming election. Most of my loved ones and friends are very concerned about things. They are concered about the moral and social demise of our nation.  They are concerned and rightfully so.

So now what?

I was talking the other day to a good friend. She was expressing her family's reponse to our economic woes....... there was concern in her voice...... she was worried...... her response is to stockpile food and get a gun.

Now I want to say that I think it's great to have a full pantry, anytime of year and under any enconomic state we may find ourselves in.  But, I do not believe our trust should be in what  "we are doing" or "what we can do" or what our "government" plans to do or will do. I believe , whole heartedly that our trust is to be in the Lord. The Word of God tells us that the Lord watches over the sparrow and even the lilly of the field is dressed beautifully!   When times get tough, we need to earnestly place our trust in the ONLY safe harbor of  security  --- the Lord!

" Trust in the Lord with all your heart , and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."  ~~ Proverbs 3: 5 & 6

Too many Americans have forgotten this proverb.

Many have invested heavily in the stock market. My husband was a broker for a few years. He could tell stories about what goes on in the stock market.  It's really just a more polished way of gambling.  I am sorry if that offends some of you.  Many are seeing their retirement funds disintegrate before their very eyes.  In the news the past few days there have been reports of some committing suicide because of their financial woes.

What is happening here?

Friends, let us not dispair! Let us not put our trust in our stocks, our savings account, our food storage or even our guns!

May I gently encourage you to place your trust in the ONLY SAFE SECURITY we have -- and that is the Lord God!

" It is the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is His faithfulness."  ~~ Lamentations 3: 22 & 23

Great is His faithfulness! He will not fail us !!   Let us not turn to "man made" answers to our problems. Let us seek His face, humble ourselves and He has promised us that He will heal our land.

My prayer is that all of us will seek His face, seek a closer walk with Him ..... and trust, trust, trust that He will provide, protect and continue to shield us!
