This has been an interesting week...But the worst of it was last night/today.
We were heading to bed just about 11pm last night, I was just going in to tuck 3 year old dd in. She was laying in the middle of the bed rolled up like a ball. I had bearly gotten halfway over the baby gate when she rolled over in her sleep and fell off the bed. Boy did the poor thing cry! But something was different it wasn't the I fell out of bed cry ouch something was wrong...We calmed her down a little got her some Tylenol and rubbed tramaheal on her shoulder. It didn't feel right and she kept saying her shoulder/neck hurt. Poor dear was crying so hard she was shaking. I got dh to call for an ambulance, no way could we have gotten her into a car seat.
Thankfully the paramedics were really nice guys. Got to the hospital and the ER nurse checked her out. She was a little better by that time, the Tylenol had kicked in a bit and the ice packs helped her shoulder. They thought she might have a slight break but not bad enough to admit that night ect. She could move her hand and arm, just hurt when moving backwards. So she phoned the DR. on call, he ordered X-Rays for the next day, had the nurse put her in a sling and gave us an ice pack and a box of Tylenol samples to take home. We were suppose to phone in the morning to get an x-ray appointment. By this time dh and the other kids arrived and we headed back home. Got home at 2 AM waaa!! Gave Rebecca a dose of Motrin (alternating Tylenol and Motrin for the pain) and thankfully got about 4 hours sleep, kids got a little more. This was all in a snow storm to...Was NOT fun driving.
Spent most of this afternoon at the hospital. She was so brave getting her x-rays :-). She has a broken collar bone :-(. Thankfully it wont need surgery but she's going to be sore for a while. She needs to use a sling for a few weeks at least. And try to avoided ruff play ect. Umm a 3 year old stay calm??? LOL Poor dear has been so good about it trying to be brave. One minute she's talking your ear off the next hurting a lot. :-(
She should be healed up pretty well in about 4 to 5 weeks...Put her matrices back on the floor! No more toddler bed for that kid for a while anyway...
Also heard from the MP's office today. They have been working on this Revenue problem for us...Turns out the tax office closes next week and will be shut down for 3 or 4 weeks to transfer over to the new filing year. So if this problem isn't fixed by Monday it will be a looooong time. GRRRR Problem is that KNOW ONE in the government seems to know what the hold up is! |
