Q & A- Laundry Soap

Q. I do have a question...with making your own soap, how does it work in this washer? I have to buy the he detergent, and this is SO expensive. If I could make my own soap, and it won't harm our washer...I will do it....SO I am asking you the "expert!".... Also, how long does your bucket last?? A. I find my bucket last about 5 or 6 months. I make 2 some times 3 batches a year. When I used a top loader I just filled it with my laundry and pour the soap in. If yours has a soap dispenser like my front loader does you can use that. The dispenser on my front loader is actually for dry soap. But I have no problem using liquid in it. You can also make the recipe up with out adding any water. Just use a 1/4 cup to a TBS of dry mix depending on your washer. I've been using this recipe for a long time as have friends of mine. We have never had problems with our washers from it. But as with anything else, I'm not a professional anything but Mommy. Use at your own judgment. ![]() |
