Here is a photo of part of our living room.  You can see the work in progress.  But I love the new floor!  Before we put this down there was very old brown carpet, and stick down tile under that.  The tile was very ugly and the carpet not much better.

What was funny was dh had to cut out one section of floor to put in a new sub floor.  There was some rot from an old water leak the last owners had.  When he did we found nice wood flooring at least 2" thick!  What was funny, is that a few weeks before I'd had a dream that dh ripped up all the tile in there and we found hard wood and decided to fix it. LOL This was before we found the rot dh had to take care of. 

If we didn't need use of the living room right now we would have considered ripping it all up and fixing the old wood.  But since we don't know the condition of the hole floor we don't want to get into a nightmare project right now!

And I love the new oak laminate anyway!
