Warm Day!!

Posted in Just Thoughts

What a wonderful day so nice and warm!  I awoke to a few rumbles of thunder last night and new our warm front was coming through.  Thankfully the storms weren't bad and the temps got up to 18C today!!  It felt like summer, I could walk around out side with out a coat.  Now we do still have about 6" of snow on the ground and most of the yard is either covered in snow or under water were it's melting.  But it wont belong now until it's all gone!!!  I saw a few flower bulbs starting to poke up here and there also.

I haven't been posting much this past week because dh and I have been working on the house renovations.  We've got the living room drywalled and strapping and paneling put up on the bottom half.  Next weekend the new floor goes in.  Dh and a friend who installs floors for a living are doing it together.  We are using the oak laminate that we got a great deal on a while ago.
Dh also put the new door on the bathroom, and finished the pluming in there.  Then finished the new wiring in the bathroom and master bedroom.  So it's coming a long pretty well!
I'll post photos when we are done.  What we are planing to do in the living room is paint the paneling (that we got for free) a grey/blue then put wide moldings on the baseboard and in between the paneling and the drywall as a chair rail.  Smiler to what was done in the kitchen by the last owners but with out the huge cost of buying the tongue and grove wood.  A friend did something like this in her house and we loved the look.

On another note, our truck is acting up again.  Dh has pretty much decided this will be the last year we'll use it.  It's not reliable, much work has been done on it and still it wont start unless you put the battery charger on boost.  Then it even takes many times, half an hour or longer to start.  As soon as we can afford to we'll have to replace it.  We have a huge amount of work that needs to be done in the next month with the truck.  Lots of dump runs.  We are STILL getting rid of junk left behind by the last owners and this is our 3rd summer here!  We also have lot of loads of compost, wood chips, and mill ends to pick up.  These will be used for our new raised beds and fence.
Our van is running great now, but now needs some frame welding lol.  I think we will have a new van by the end of the year.    Dh found the source of a new clunking noise.  It's a stabilizer bar that's come un bolted.  The area were it bolts to the front frame has rusted through.  Our mechanic will have a look at it tomorrow.
