Canning

Well I've been so busy I haven't been able to check in much lately.
I'm starting to get back in the swing of things around here. Made up a batch of bread on the weekend yummy!
And also tried out my new canner. It's a presto 23 quart dial gage. I like it but I'm finding the dial much harder to regulate then a weighted one. So I'm going to order another canner that will fit the quart jars but with out the dial. That way I don't have to sit right by the stove and watch it. I can work in the kitchen or tend the kids as long as I can hear it. Anyway I canned 9 quarts of chicken soup this weekend. Now that I have a canner that will hold quart jars I'm going to start canning lots of meals for our family. I had been holding off and only doing veggies in my pint size canner because I just didn't want to open 6 jars at a time to feed our family lol!![]() It's winter wonderland again up here. It's been snowing softly all day. Much nicer then the last storm we got.
I've also been working on my seed order. I'll post what I'm ordering soon. I can't wait to get digging in the dirt! Just a few more months to go.... |
