Busy Weekend

It's been a busy weekend around here. Lets see Friday was shopping day. We headed out about noon and picked up Amanda. My first stop was Walmart as I wanted to take advantage of the school sales going on right now. Boy I wished I'd gotten there a few weeks sooner!! It was PACKED you could hardly get past the entrance area and of course that's were they had the best sales. I got the last package of computer paper 500 sheets for 2.95 for something like that. I had wanted 5 or 6 :-(. But I did stock up on lined paper, and notebooks, pencils and such. I also picked up some play dough, paints, and 6 different flash card sets. Oh and the large book case that was my biggest reason for going. I need more storage!!! Then off to the bulk store and got a 50 pound bag of popcorn for dh it should last him a little while LOL. He has a large bowl almost every night. Then after grocery shopping I looked around the kids thrift shop (well it's new and used). I got a bunch of nice books for 1.00 each and some little dresses for Rachel for less then 1.00 each.
Latter that night we put the book case together and I've been working at getting my books set up there. I need at least 2 more!!
Sat we were up early to take a load of rabbits to market. Dh got more then he expected for them so was very happy!! Then we went to pick up the cage trays we ordered for the new feeder cage dh is building (It's almost done). Dh treated us to lunch at a truck stop on the way home they had all day brekie and it was HUGE! Yummy! Part of his anniversary gift :-) And the girls were sooo good all day to, it was Rachel's first time in a restaurant since she was a tiny newborn.
We also stopped at a yard sale on the way home. I picked up a little bird cage with all the toys etc. for 1.00, two cast iron pans for .50 each and a key/mail holder for .50 and a basket, little jar/holder, cutting board free from the same sale.
Then we stopped to visit a good friend of dh for a few min on the way home. Dh and I were talking to him and he's going to be staying at our place for a while. He's applying for some temp jobs in the area here and didn't want the long drive from his place each day. So he'll be camping out here and helping dh a few hours each day with some projects here. It will be great for him to have some help for a bit!
Sunday we tried to relax most of the day as we were all very tired and took a nice walk with the girls latter. There is a field nearby we like to take them to pick wild flowers. Then latter dh and I enjoyed a quiet pizza supper together. :-) |
