How To Make A No Sew Fleece Blanket
Posted in In The Craft Room
I love making no sew fleece blankets for gifts. They are so quick and easy to make, yet beautiful and useful as well. This year I’m making smaller lap blanket size ones, 1 meter long. Hope you enjoy the video. To read step by step instructions see here.

Kim,
Just want to thank you for another great idea! Doug and I discussed making next year a hand-made gift giving year. These would make GREAT gifts and are so easy for this novice sewer.
Thank you!

I have a question. I had these blankets on my list to give as gifts this year but had trouble finding fleece that was affordable. If you don't mind me asking, where do you purchase your fleece and how much do you normally spend? Most of the fleece that I have found costs between $5 and $11 a yard. Also, does ultra cuddle fleece work. When I looked at it, it seemed to fray easily at the edges. Thanks in advance. I love you site.
Blessings,
Tiffany

Hi Tiffany,
I don't mind at all. In Canada, at least our area the cheapest fleece you can find is 10.00 a meter. That's at walmart, a smaller local fabric store is 15.00+ a meter. Each blanket cost me about 20.00 to make for a lap sized one.
I don't know about that other type of fleece, I haven't heard of it before. I've only used arctic fleece.
You could try buying it after Christmas for next year. Often they put it on clearance, to make room for spring fabrics.

2009-Dec-22 - A Suggestion...

If I may make a suggestion...If cost is a concern, many places like Hobby Lobby (Christian Based Craft Store), Joann's, Michaels and other Craft stores usually have weekly coupons for 40-50% ONE non-sale item. If you wait for the coupons, you SAVE.
Another suggestion is I'm assuming they'll have sales on fleece and flannel as soon as the nicer weather comes in the spring. That's another idea.
Next year is a "Hand-made" year for us. I just want to give things on a "personal" level. So I'm starting in January to look for things I can make. While also watching for sales on such things as fleece now.
