I'm back

Not that anyone noticed I was gone. I've learned a lot more about blogging since I was here last and hope to be a little more regular around here.

I have lots of things I'd like to share about. Mostly I'll be posting about my Lord, my life, my family as well as some interesting things I find along the way. You never know what you might find here. Hope you enjoy your visits. God Bless!

Whew! Busy Week!

For about six months I've been doing volunteer work at a ministry called Equipping The Saints. We provide just about anything you can think of to support missionaries overseas. We've shipped "stuff" to around 40 countries this last year. It can be very tiring and rewarding work. Currently we are working on shipping a container (you know, those huge containers you see loaded on ships) of clothing. To fill the container, we must have 1,000 boxes. First all the clothes must be sorted--adults/children; spring & summer/fall & winter and then rolled and put into boxes which weigh between 30 - 50 lbs. each (depending on contents). The clothing is all donated but must be in good condition. We don't want to send items in the Lord's name that don't look nice and clean. We need to have the boxes completed by the end of this month and had almost totally run out of clothing. We began to pray and yesterday received almost 5,000 lbs. of clothes. OK LORD. Not only did the Lord provide the clothing, but He also provided some despirately neeeded assistance (about 10 young girls came in unexpectedly to help).

No, our clothes don't look this neat, they usually come in plastic garbage bags or sometimes boxes. Sometimes they look like we got the trash by mistake. In that case, we throw them away.

Like I said, it's tiring work and rewarding at the same time. You know you've helped someone who doesn't have nearly what we have in the States.
