Ziggy's Prayer

My youngest son (6 years old) is quite taken with the little girl next door. She is not like his older brothers who think he cannot do anything because he is too little and she isn't constantly winning all the races or jumping the highest or telling him he is in the way or can't do it. So, he announced to me the other day that he loves her. I just smiled and his brothers laughed and teased.
Then he announced the next day that he planned to marry her and wished he could kiss her. This brought another round of laughter from his brothers.
I smiled again and said, "well, just wait and see! When you are all grown up, Jesus will show you the right one to marry if you ask him!"
Well, at supper time this evening after Ziggy and the neighbor little girl played with their bouncy balls and laughed and ran hilariously around, it was time to settle down and eat. The little girl went home and we gathered round the table. My husband asked Ziggy if he would please ask the blessing on the food which he did pray, only he forgot the blessing on the food part! He apparently had more important things on his mind. This was his prayer:
"Dear Jesus,
Thank you for time and thank you for today.
And God, is Jana the right one or not?
Amen!"
My older boys were just about bursting at the seems before "Amen" was even said and my husband and I just looked at each other in surprise and smiled. My husband was shaking his head and I reprimanded the older boys for laughing when that is exactly what we told him he should do about his concerns -- Take them to God in prayer!
LOL!

I love prayers of little ones... so honest about what is on the heart.
Thanks for sharing... and love your new sewing spot and your courage to get rid of that computer! I think I would have wavered...but it is easier when your husband is helping with the decision. Wonderful!
Warmly,
~Melissa
