Hi everyone, I have been very busy these last few months, sewing and spinning and crocheting! A few weekends ago, my family went to a KOA for a fun family weekend. While we were there I set up a booth at a craft fair and sold several of my purses that I have made. Some were hand spun, some were conventional yarn. But they were all one-of-a-kind original designs. Right now, my Mom has some up for auction, and you can see them on her blog or you can go right to HomeschoolBuy and see what I have in the "homesteading" section. I hope to get the code up here on my blog, we'll see! I hope you will let me know if you read my blog :) I am not very good at keeping up with this crazy thing! I am much more comfortable behind a spinning wheel than a computer. Blessings! Home Spun Rose

For the last few years I have been making Christmas Dresses for my little sister and I. All of these dresses are my own original pattern designs.
Here are some photos:
Christmas '04
I made this dress with snowman material, along with two other dresses for two other little girls.
Christmas '05
I made these matching dresses for me and my sister. They are "opposites" with the bodice and skirt of my dress one color and my sisters the other.
Christmas '06
Isn't this silly? This is a "cupcake." That is what my best friend calls it, when you spin around and your dress puffs out. This dress was my first with buttons and button holes. My old machine had a very hard button hole foot, and I struggled with this, meanwhile my parents had bought me a new machine for Christmas. I was working on this before Christmas and it was giving me so much trouble! My parents were just dying to let me have my new machine right then and there....it was hard for them to wait until Christmas. But they did!
I have been enjoying my new sewing machine so much! I made a full length dress for myself on New Years Eve, in 3 hours and 18 minutes.
I will post photos of it as soon as I can!

This year I started my own business crocheting purses (I hope to begin selling them online soon) Then this week my friend's grandmother sent her a pair of beaded socks and told her that they looked like they would be easy to make. So we tried them and they are great fun to make. And we decided to be partners and make them to sell. I think it is going to be a lot of fun!.
Here are a couple of my purse designs:
The peach colored purse on the top, left side is made from hand dyed, (by my friends Emma and Grace) and hand spun, designed and crocheted by me. I hope to post some of my patterns soon. But I have to get them written out first!
Tell me what you have been up to! I love to see what others are crafting.

Hi everyone, I started this blog awhile back but haven't posted yet. I am trying to get organized so I can tell you about my projects that I am working on. I do hand spinning and dying, and I also have started a little side business, designing crocheted purses. I hope to get some photos and information up real soon!
