When you freeze your bread do you cut it first or just freeze the whole loaf uncut? Is it ok to use the bread bags in the freezer? Thanks!

I got this recipe off the web but tweaked it. They make a yummy breakfast treat! I made these up for breakfast this morning I doubled the recipe and added blueberries not apples.
2 T. butter 1/2 C sugar (organic of you can) 2 tsp. vanilla 1 lrg egg 1/2 C unbleached white flour 1/2 C whole wheat flour (you can do just 1 C whole wheat flour) 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 C sour cream 2 tbs buttermilk 1 1/2 C diced, cored apples ( I have used blueberries for this recipe to and it's delicious)
Topping 1/4 C brown sugar or sucatan 1/4 C whole wheat flour pinch of salt 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon 2 tbs butter 3 tbs oats
Preheat over to 375*
Add the brown sugar, 1/4 C flour, pinch of salt, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon to a large mixing bowl and beat briefly to blend, with mixer fitted with paddle attachment. Add the 2 T butter and beat on low until crumb mixture forms. Work the oats in with your hands. Pour into a small bowl and set aside.
Return mixing bowl to mixer and add the 2 T butter, sugar , and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat to combine, scraping sides of bowl.
Add the flours, baking powder, baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt to a 4-cup measure, and whisk to blend.
Add the flour mixture all at once to the mixing bowl, along with the sour cream and buttermilk. Beat on low speed just until blended (scraping down the sides of bowl after 5 seconds). Stir in the apple chunks.
Spoon a slightly heaping 1/8 cup of batter into each muffin cup. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the top of each muffin. Bake for about 20 minutes or until muffins are lightly browned and top springs back after being pushed.
Makes 12 muffins

Well I didn't have much turkey left after Thursday's meal. Soooo I deboned what was left and then proceeded to make some yummy homemade stalk. I put the bones and skin in a large stalk pot with one onion just bulky cut up,3 celery stalks cut up in large pieces, 1/2 tbs garlic powder, 1 tsp season salts,1 tsp bouillon granules and let it cook for a few hours. Drained the liquid and threw out the bone, skin, and veggies. I let it cool and put it in the refridgerator to let the fat rise to the top. I took it out this morning and skimmed off the fat and threw it out. I divided it up into 2 Cup portions and froze it. I took one of the portions and last night I made a big batch of cream of turkey using the 2 cups of leftover turkey. That's it no more turkey. I made a double batch of buttermilk biscuits and warmed up leftovers and we feasted again. Today for lunch was leftovers and now there's very little cream of turkey left. So all in all no waste, we used most everything in one way or another. YEAH!!!!

1 package (1/4 ounce size) active dry yeast 1/4 C warm water 2 Tbs sugar 1 tsp salt 2 Tbs butter,melted 1 C sour cream 1 egg 2 1/2 C flour,more as needed
**Glaze** 1/3 C packed brown sugar 3 Tbs butter,melted 3 Tbs honey,warmed 3 Tbs heavy cream
**Filling** 1/3 C butter,softened 1/4 C finely chopped nuts 1/4 C honey
In a mixing bowl, combine yeast and water, let stand 5 minutes. Stir in sugar, salt and butter. Add sourcream and egg, beat until smooth. Add 1 1/2 C flour. Blend at low speed until moistened. Blend 3 mins. at medium speed, scraping bowl twice. By hand, stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic about 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl turning once to grease top.
Cover and let rice in a warm place until doubled in size, about an hour. Combine glazed ingredients, sprad evenly in a 13x9x2 inch baking dish; set aside. Punch down dough roll into a 24x9 inch rectangle.
Combine filling ingredients,spead over dough.
Fold dough lengthwise over filling, forming a 12x9 inch rectangle. Cut lengthwise into six 9 inch x 2 inches pieces. Twist each piece loosely and place over glaze in baking dish. Cover and let rise until double in size, about an hour.
Bake @ 350*F for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Invert plan onto a large platter: let set 1 minute before removing. Serve warm or refrigerate overnight.
I don't remember where I got this recipe but I think it was a recipe email list a couple years ago.
Let me know if any of you try this before I get a chance to.
