Brrrr is the quote for the day. It's bone chilling cold out. We didn't get much in the way of snow but oh boy did the temperatures plumit.
Ok so I have been sitting here thinking about my children. I do have to admit that I am blessed in many ways with them, especially when I look at how other parents have it. But one thing that I have been dealing with more with my boys is tempers. I do know that males have to show themselves from time to time but these to lads are getting out of control. Wanting to fist fight now. Now to give a look into the type of person I am...... I am a pretty easy going person, not at all hard to get along with. My children know that as long as they do what they are suppose to do things are easy here. Now with that said,my flip side that they see when they step out of line is firm and to the point. But I must say that recently when they get angry it's like they don't remember our rules for the house and proper behavior. Often times when I speak up during these outbursts I am often finding myself eitehr not heard or ignored. You choose. I speak up once, maybe twice, then louder but not yelling. I just start counting. Oh I know what you are thinking " Oh what is she thinking, everyone knows the counting thing does not work, no wonder they are acitng out." But let me explain what happens when I am through counting. I start 1....2....3 all the time they are fighting but start to hear me couting outloud 4.....5 before I get to five the most time, more than not, stop and walk away or at least stop and try to explain themselve. As if they can justify it, NOT. But they know in their mind that trying to explain themselves after I had to resort to the counting level is like stopping on ice, no matter how much you try you just can't. So they walk away and go to their rooms to cool down. If I do get to five they know, no fighting of course that's a given but also 1. no tv 2.no phone 3.no computer time 4 stay in your room for the rest of the day 5 if they talk back or do it more that day they have days added to their punishment and chores piled on until the figure out the magic point. NO FIGHTING,DO DISRESPECTING ONE ANOTHER. Hmmm one would figure that would not be so hard to figure out. Now I must also point out that once these privileges are taken from them they must be earned back by good behavior one at a time.
On the homefront I have alot to do today. I am meeting a lady today from a freecylce group I'm in to get some clothes for Carissa. The little stinker grew out of her size and now her pants are all too short, ugh. LOL Laundry is a daily thing so it's on my list, general cleaning and the laundry room needs a good cleaning. I normally clean out the car(s) today but it's to darn cold out for that.
Dinner tonight will be one of the kids' favorites.... am in the pm (breakfast for super),homemade buttermilk pancakes, eggs, and maybe some bacon, and a couple servings of canned fruits (in juice not syrup).
Well I better get going.
God Bless,
Tammy
