Well I didn't have much turkey left after Thursday's meal. Soooo I deboned what was left and then proceeded to make some yummy homemade stalk. I put the bones and skin in a large stalk pot with one onion just bulky cut up,3 celery stalks cut up in large pieces, 1/2 tbs garlic powder, 1 tsp season salts,1 tsp bouillon granules and let it cook for a few hours. Drained the liquid and threw out the bone, skin, and veggies. I let it cool and put it in the refridgerator to let the fat rise to the top. I took it out this morning and skimmed off the fat and threw it out. I divided it up into 2 Cup portions and froze it. I took one of the portions and last night I made a big batch of cream of turkey using the 2 cups of leftover turkey. That's it no more turkey. I made a double batch of buttermilk biscuits and warmed up leftovers and we feasted again. Today for lunch was leftovers and now there's very little cream of turkey left. So all in all no waste, we used most everything in one way or another. YEAH!!!!
God bless, Tammy |
