Good morning everyone. It's been cool here for the past couple of days. Last night we got some rain not much though. We worked in the yard most of the weekend. The whole family worked to get the garden in,Carissa would bring me my plants when I needed them or seeds. She loves helping,it makes her feel like a big girl. Jason helped by working the hoe with John and making signs for me. Brandon helped by clearing away,chunks of grass and gathering sticks to use for the signs. It was a great feeling with all of use working together. Once we got the big garden done we moved to planting the strawberries. I finally have a small strawberry patch or well it will be one day as they mulitply every year and do great around here. I can't wait to have my own homegrown juicey strawberries. We worked hard but it was satisfying. We had a great conversation while we worked too,talking about the farm we pray that we will one day own. We discussed the types of animals we want to own and how much care they will need and how they will benefit our home and us. The boys are not sure about butchering animals they have helped take care of then eating them but I told them that's just part of the circle of life. They still are not kean on the idea but they'll adjust when the time comes. LOL We found out that my car needs a new water pump. I kept telling John that I smelled the faint odor of antifreeze,but he kepts saying "oh no your crazy". Turns out my nose was right. So now I'm driving the van until we get it fixed.
Today I have much to do. I have to my newsletter finished and sent out. I was up at 4:20 this morning and took Jason to school,they are going to Washington DC today and wont be back until very very late tonight. I have bread to make and cookies. Of course there's always laundry but I'm done with that now. I also need to go to the bank to open another account. Then back home and get dinner on.
We are downsizing so to speak. I pulled out our budget and we are trimming back to save us money. Eating out only once a month,I cancelled our cell phones for now, we will change internet providers soon,cable is another we are concidering but so far John is addiment that we keep it,he says I just want to keep something. LOL So he's got it. Every penny helps nowadays.
Well I gotta go finish up the housework. My bathtub now has a ring around it from this weekends baths.LOL
