I just don't get it

I just don't get it with my oldest son.  I know he hears my voice when I ask him to do something. I know I speak clearly and speak directly to him. So it just amases me that he can't hear me. I mean that has to be what it is or else he would listen and do as I say without a second thought. So he must have something wrong with his hearing right. WRONG!  He is being so pig headed. I ask him to do something or remind of his chores and he will say ok. Then do nothing. I check on his progress and nothing is done and so there in is round 2 this time more forceful. This usually does the trick but he then tries to pull some lesson the blow by saying I didn't hear you.  Oh come on you answered me I would reply. Just to be answered with no,I didn't hear you mom. Do I look stupid? UGH!  He then goes on in a sluggish unhappy manner and does what was asked of him to do in the first place.  As he walks on he hears me say if you only would have done it on the first asking this whole ordeal would have been avoided.  He just continues to work. When my younger daughter was in high school, I didn't think I would make it thru those years. She was quite head-strong and we disagreed on so many things. And then during her senior year in high school, she fixed Mother's Day dinner for me and for my Mom and my sister. She would not even let me in the kitchen. And, oh my, what a blessing that was. And today, some 20+ years later, she says I am her very best friend.
God bless you during this time - the blessings will come as you are faithful. Because God is truly the Faithful One.

My 3 year old does the same thing. I think they start out as little men and never change. When he gets married he will do the same thing to his wife.
You can always blame it on testosterone. LOL
If you come up with an answer post it it will save us all alot of pain.
